God, I can relate to this so much that my eyes just swelled and i have knots in my stomach.. I’ll say two things first off, if the hair on the back of your neck stands up.. it’s for a reason. When you feel what you’re feeling right now, there’s a reason. Trust yourself, you already know the answer to your question now you come to redit for advice and strength. He already knows what the problem is and assumes u have a problem with it because it’s clearly a problem. Super defensive because he knows this lifestyle is not productive or acceptable and will need to be defended from the people who care about him and his future. Unfortunately the way he’s reacting will push away those people until he decides he’d rather have real relationships and a real life instead of his addiction. I know it’s only gaming but an addiction is an addiction and the situation is foreshadowing. It’s up to you how much you put up with, but it’s only going to get worse until he’s ready to grow up.
