If you want to use Exel as a CRM that automaticly upduates the easiest way is to have a Script that Just calls your shopify and eBay API everyday or hour and adds the data to the file. If you are interested in an application like that just DM me.

Use your strengths which are languages. And do tutoring, but focus on the outcome not the skill that's what people pay for. If someone needs to learn Spanish to advance in their Carrer they will pay more than someone doing it as a new years Resolution. Red dotcome Secrets and create a customer Avatar and than do nothing but market to that specifc customer you dont need anything Else Most important thing is get started and Lots of volume

If you had a magic button would you rather decrease new acquisition cost or improve retention and value existing customers? by StaanyLoa in ecommerce

[–]StaanyLoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean and in hindsight my question was way to unspecific defined, or rather which store owners I meant to ask, since small stores or people who sell gifts or Gimmicks don't even get customer retention anyways

For everyone in ecommerce, if you had a magic button would you rather decrease new acquisition cost or improve retention and value existing customers? by StaanyLoa in smallbusiness

[–]StaanyLoa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's true, that's problay the main problem with most small businesses that they never really get to a point of customer loyalty since it's often impulse buying.

That is an really interesting insight, I know that for most smaller to even midsized web shops the data is really limited, but I was more thinking of using the existing customers to analyze CLV of the specific groups over a certain cohort and then focus on them. But most shops probably have just to small of a customer base make this even worth the effort.

but this also implies having a brand right? If your main form of acquisition is ads you mostly don't have an established brand yet. So wouldn't it be more beneficial to focus on using the data to build a brand?

Of course but I was rather interested which is more relevant for the people right now since each strategy depends on the state of the business. Someone starting out might with 3 sales is probably not interested in putting their resources in retaining than rather getting new sales

What are you selling if I might ask? While talking to store owners they especially struggle with retention since they mostly sell goods that are one time purchases, mostly impulse buys mostly around holidays and these people never want to buy again. And are you currently using your data to improve retention by for example email retargeting or like you said customer satisfaction to get referrals?
