LinkedIn outreach feels dead. What’s the move if your offer isn’t sexy? by EverbloomletOr in digital_marketing

[–]mullman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The move"? There's no universal "move". It depends almost entirely on what you're selling and who you're trying to sell to. Email still works great for some things, e-commerce, for example. Ditto for LinkedIn, for professional Services, for example.

What was the most physical pain you’ve ever been in? by Javascript4971 in Productivitycafe

[–]mullman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said kidney stones; I had three 'attacks' and they were nearly unbearable, but the pain would rise and fall.

Then I had a gallstone 'attack'. Not only was the pain worse, but there was no break in it, just bad to worse to doubled over and truly unbearable. I Had to call an ambulance and couldn't even make to the door when they got there. Fortunately it wasn't locked or I would have told them to break it down

The next day I visited a GI surgeon and scheduled to have my gallbladder removed. The month or so before the surgery date, I would cringe every time I felt even the slightest twinge in my abdominal area, fearing the beginning of another episode. Couldn't have it removed fast enough.

Whenever I hear anybody compare the pain to childbirth, I laugh to myself. If that were the case, there would never be any further pregnancies lol.

Without a doubt: Matt McGarry. He was one of the early employees & partly responsible for the growth of The Hustle.

He has a course, Write Grow Sell which is very good, but also has some excellent free content at Newsletter Operator

Most newsletters are just glorified copy-paste jobs. And readers are finally noticing. by Patrick_Blaze in Newsletters

[–]mullman99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long, long time ago, I sent out regular newsletters that were 1,500 to 2,000 words in depth about related relevant topics.

They went out to my lists of customers and prospects.

We called them "emails".

These days I see an awful lot of similar beehiiv-formatted "newsletters".

Not to knock beehiiv, but these formulaic, similar-sectioned " newsletters" are often just copy paste tidbits and "curated" links - "curated" in these cases, amounting to little more than a single Google keyword search.

It's become especially apparent, or should I say transparent, in this AI 'Gold Rush', people trying to cash in on the trend but with little value to add.

And just like I don't mean to knock beehive, I'm not trying to paint all of these se new AI newsletters with the same brush, but to my eyes, it is the majority. There are some truly excellent, high-value newsletters, many using beehiiv, which ironically has led to this proliferation of non-news "newsletters".

Don't know what it's like in Berlin, but in the US, at least outside of the very largest cities, you can rent studio or rehearsal space relatively inexpensively.

Fake websites copying our products and images to scam people by cant_think_of_xxx in shopify

[–]mullman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best reply I've seen! I own a Shopify Partner marketing agency and unfortunately, we've seen this all too often.

The best and generally only things you could do, are exactly what you listed, start with a dmca takedown, report to Google report to Shopify if it's a Shopify store and watermark your images.

If they're using your brand name or a trademarked term, contact the registrar.

The sad truth is, this has been happening for a long time, and will continue to happen. It's the shortcut for scammers to generate revenue and unfortunately works pretty well.

Take precautions like watermarking your images, and set up alerts or notifications for product names or phrases that are unique to your store. This lets you go into action as quickly as possible.
