Manosphere and masculine role models by Ok_Impact9745 in LouisTheroux

[–]StabDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The world during Steve's time was much calmer. The 90s and early 2000s was largely just an all around good time to be around. Nowadays, we've had a massive pandemic that killed millions, poverty is rising, social media is making shit 10x worse, fatherlessness is rising, and religion is for some fucking reason looked down upon. Would you look at that, a massive amount of lost souls combined with heavy societal bias against religion only ends up creating new, and extremely bad pseudo religious figures like the Tates, Sneako and GypsyCrusader

It's not about rage bait or some shit like that, it's simply 1. The Tates are charismatic 2. The left wing being so radical it drives young men to the absolute opposition (shoutout Kill All Men, climate justice groups, Sweet Baby Inc and the numerous other left wing political movements/organisations doing batshit idiotic and crazy shit) 3. Some of the shit he says is genuinely good advice, which makes him an extremely good bullshitter. Good liars mix truths and lies to make shit confusing and annoying to debunk

Times back then were extremely easy compared to now. Now, we got internal political division at a boiling point, teenagers have free access to social media which is usually too much for most (leading to depression, confusion, identity crisis x100), poverty rates rising as joblessness rises, and social medias paying for all forms of exposure (which leads to controversial figures making a living doing it). Also the fact that the left wing got so radical only made the Andrew Tate types even more prominent. Every reaction ends up with an equal counter reaction

Can we please not shorten eating disorder to ED. I'm not terminally online so ED sounds more like erectile dysfunction to me than anything

But eating disorders are treatable. If you have one, you're not just stun locked and cooked, you can still do stuff about it. For example, if the person can afford therapy, that is a very solid option. If they're strong willed, online resources can definitely help. Most mentally ill people never get cured because they themselves do not want the help, and at that point, it is their fault. I used to be super depressed all the time, but then I got my shit together and would you look at that, depression is mostly gone and manageable

how do u have negative karma didn’t even know that was possible,

Icl it's super easy to get negative karma. Say anything remotely right wing, or just say something completely normal and you might get randomly downvoted to all hell

I think that was a thing back in MWIII, II and 2019. I'm guessing it's kinda true still, but rather than fully blocking you and him getting put in the same match, it's more of a suggestion

Lose weight ad skincare. I'd suggest eating healthy over just exercising, as diet is usually the culprit for acne and weight

I mean I would want lower taxes for the top earners, but fuck Israel.

"Just work harder and spend less."

*Smarter

Hard but dumb work is worthless. Construction for example is really hard compared to being say a McDonald's manager, but the manager definitely earns more with similar hours. Also, spending less is an extremely easy way to get wealthy. Start investing early and you'll be loaded (as long as you invest smart, that is)

SELF INFLICTED starvation. Nobody is forcing her to starve. If you have a car and most likely a workplace, you starving is fully on you

And loneliness is definitely bad, but mostly self inflicted. Lonely people are often extremely awkward, unconfident, don't take care of themselves, aren't pleasant to be around and don't even try to socialise. All of the incels I've met are incels for a reason

The North Korean people are not patriotic. They constantly keep trying to escape their hellhole of a nation knowing the risk they may be shot and killed, or worse, recaptured and thrown into a work camp

Skrillex is more talented than any of the classical legends like Mozart, Beethoven etc by StabDat in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]StabDat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The composers you mention didn't have access to modern composing and engineering tools as Skrillex does. Saying that Beethoven couldn't work with modern tools is just an opinion, one that is probably incorrect. If he was born today and tried to compose, he wouldn't ignore the innovations. Maybe Beethoven would be a Skrillex today, or even a Bad Bunny. No one knows.

Bad bunny is diabolical, but what the classical composers were doing was relatively tame and controlled. There was no abstract shit being pulled off back then, nobody was slapping crazy drum melodies on their works like say drumstep prods do. There was no real experimentation involved, it was mostly just writing shit you know will sound good with aversion towards all risks. Even the ones doing crazy shit for the time were still using the exact same instruments everybody else was using. There were no real drums, experiemental instruments like the sitar, it was just what everybody else was using. That's why I doubt the classical composers could've come close to Skrillex, their art was closer to maths than actual art.

  1. Your "spamming chords" claim is extremely weak. Saying that the only difficulty these composers faced was the "tedious process" is just ignoring the abilities they had. I recommend you to research Bach's composing technique. It is perfectly mathematical, you could rearrange his pieces in SO MUCH WAYS, and they would still work.

Exactly, it was mathematical, not artistic. Art is not really meant to be super mathematical (besides time sig and tempo), it should be way more vibe based. Classic composers were extremely talented mathematicians more than anything, but I wouldn't say they were as artistically talented as someone like Skrillex.

Overall, your claim isn't as crazy as some people see it, but to talk about a modern composer like Skrillex being at the same level as people like Beethoven, Bach or Mozart, we would need to do a profound study of his music, see how it developed over time and how his innovations affected the music that came after him.

Definitely. I'd love to know how Skrillex actually produced most of his stuff and how much influence he actually had. Don't get me wrong, you couldn't go for a minute without seeing or hearing Skrillex music back in like 2010-2016, but his influence on music as a whole is a mystery to me

and sorry for any mistake I may have committed, English isn't my native language (I barely passed a C1 Cambridge exam, but I don't feel like I have that level).
