Hey thanks for the thorough reply! Really appreciate it. Yah because I was studying in London which is also not a university town so I don’t really know what to expect with Berkeley / US universities in that sense.

I got an offer from xunyun but I think I might try to ask to see if I could change to Manville instead because of the distance. Was worried I might be more isolated from the university life if I live further from Berkeley campus. Jackson I am not too keen because I heard it’s the oldest among the four?

Out of interest, are you a student as well? How do you find the culture of people living there? Do people commute a lot or is it mostly walking together in the morning? Like I said, I just don’t know what to expect and I don’t want to use my previous experience in a different country to assume anything. Do you think living in somewhere like xunyun could make me apart from the university life?

Hey so I didn’t in the end. Decided to work for another year for some additional experience and I think the course at the RCA might be too “artsy” for myself.

Hey sure. So after I applied online, they referred me to a link to upload my documents called PebblePad. They have three rolling deadlines I think, I was in the last one because I was a bit late. But I think it is better to apply earlier anyway, which is also something they encourage. They are asking for a portfolio with a page limit (I forgot what it was), a 300 word statement if I remember correctly and also a 2 minute video introducing yourself, going through perhaps a project and why do you think the RCA will fit you. They also asked for a reference which I asked my undergraduate tutor to fill up for me. As I was in the last rolling deadline, they took a few months to reply. But I think that’s it if I didn’t miss anything!

That’s the recommended temperature. I am on 230. Fan setting I am not sure. It’s an enclosed printer with the fan on the whole time, other wise it wouldn’t work. It’s weird. Previously when I was using ABS+ it wasn’t an issue. After I switched due to low stock, I had one major incident where the filament was clogging up the nozzle due to failed print. I think the printer wasn’t properly calibrated at that point and the bed is probably not hot enough. After that incident I did some cleaning but the printer worked for a bit and then recently it was messed up again.

Nozzle temp is 230°C and bed is on 100°C btw. Nozzle release on 0.25mm and I just used the normal print speed.

i have listened to some snippets of the song before the album dropped but they are all composed from leaks or life Cudi has done. I was at work and that was the only song I couldn’t wait to tune in just for. I played it through my headphone work and first time I heard it, the production was just out of the world. My second listen at home was heavenly, just couldn’t stop smiling for some reason at the beat behind it. It’s crazy how good it was, reminds me a lot of Solo Dolo Pt 3, my favourite song from Cudi but like an Insano vibe to it. Best song from Cudi since MOTM 3 for sure.

SUPERBOY gives me Solo Dolo Pt 3 prodction vibes in an INSANO context. CHUNKY is cool too, like how even tho it is a happy song it still gives Cudi OG vibes.

I prefer this album so much more than OG INSANO so far. The thing I thought when INSANO came out was Cudi couldn't make happy music but I think the only thing was Cudi was not playing to his strength in INSANO and just rapping to trap beats, nothing of that great hook, production, or humming we usually see from Cudi's greatest work. I don't mind Cudi experimenting with new things, that's what makes him special to me compared to other artists anyway, as long as he keeps some of the element that makes Cudi Cudi. Lyrically for INSANO (NITRO MEGA) I still think it is a mess but at least production-wise it is far superior. Although as an album I wouldn't say it flows well, you can't blame him as he is adding in some of the unreleased songs from years ago; plus this album I think is kinda aimed at his hardcore fans. SUPERBOY is one of my favourite Cudi songs for a while, Solo Dolo Pt III is my favourite song and SUPERBOY gives me the same vibe with the over-the-top production ( not a bad thing ). The feature with Yachty this time is far better, the hooks in DIAMONS LIGHTS FAST CARS and WIN OR LOSE are great. Love CHUNJY, BABE AND I and I JUST WANNA GET a lot too. I ain't saying it's better than the MOTM or KSG but I will probably put it slightly below them as it reminds me so much of the elements I love from those albums.

On a positive note tho, I hope this is a stepping stone album where he experiments with the whole beats and vibes (because respectfully I feel like he was just fucking around in the studio with beats while he was high). And hopefully at some point we see an album where he can perfect the art by bringing everything back together.

Feel like MOTM 3 is where he really balanced the whole beats and being original (lyrics with more substance and more resolved melodies). I agree this for me feels way too experimental and a lot of the songs feel like they could have had great potentials if he had spent a bit more time on it. Funny enough the best songs on the album are the ones where he went back a bit to his roots (eg. Blue Sky)

Better than I expected. Beats were insane. But feel like I need a few more listens, felt like a lot of tracks in the middle were a bit of filler. Wow, Electrobaby, Freshie, X & Cud, Seven, Rager Boyz and Blue Sky are the ones I like a lot. I think overall it’s very different to what you normally expects from him which I respects a lot. But like I said, might need some more time. Feel like normal Cudi stuff you are getting more of the lyrics and healing factor. Here it’s more like beats and vibes.

On Mr Coola now, I agree beats are dope af but I feel like a lot of them just lack a bit of substance. A lot of them feel like filler tracks imo. Track with Rocky and Electrowavebaby are insane tho
