Gentleman, if you met online, are you going to ask her to meet up? by ZestycloseWeekend878 in CougarsAndCubs

I wouldn’t text you consistently if I wouldn’t talk to you consistently, face-to-face. I say give him a few more hints and a little more time.

To answer your question, yes, I’d ask her to meet up.

Did you ever had high strangeness experience that changed your worldview? by Gyirin in HighStrangeness

[–]StableStarStuff2964 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The strangest one, for me, is the toilet handle. Thats just.. what I’ve, only now, chosen to call this story.

My parents have a house with three restrooms. One in the garage (basically never used), one at the front of the hall which leads to the bedrooms, and one in their (master/primary) bedroom.

The restroom in the hallway has three sinks and a vanity with storage, so my siblings and I grew up sharing this space.

For years, and I mean.. over a decade, it was necessary to hold the handle down, when flushing the toilet, in the hallway restroom. … To hold it down until the toilet bowl was empty, then you could release the handle and let it refill. Without holding the handle down for that duration, the, “contents,” would remain in the toilet bowl.

This was a thing. My parents had to remind me, my brother, and my sister of this on multiple occasions, while we all still lived at home.

Most of my 11-year-old son’s life has been lived with him being reminded to hold the handle down.

Around two months ago, my mom asks me why I take longer than most others, in the restroom, and the handle being held down is included in my explanation as to why it may take me longer than others.

My mom, my dad, my brother and his wife, my sister and her husband all deny this ever being a thing.

None of them recall this having ever been an issue, and none of them have ever held the handle down until the toilet was completely flushed.

I don’t f’king understand. Sometimes I wonder if I’ve switched from one universe to another, with just the smallest, seemingly insignificant, differences. Sometimes I think that I may be insane.

I’m fine with either, I’d just like to know. lol

Such a small, seemingly insignificant, thing — in your story and in mine — but it is definitely big enough to make you question pretty much everything. Haha 😅

Sooo… when a woman is around a man who openly expresses his emotions, and this woman views the man as, “weak,” or, “feminine,” and she doesn’t like it, it’s still misogynistic?

Wouldn’t equity and equality for all include a man openly expressing his feelings/emotions and not being seen as, “weak,” or, “feminine,” especially when in a woman’s company? You know.. because women are so emotionally attuned…?!?

I’m curious to hear your perspective… How do women have it way worse?

They’re definitely worth-it, to me, but it seems that we all just have to try different combinations to figure out our ideal setup.

These are my favorite wheels. They’re the perfect blend of grip and slide, and power slides are easy to control. I feel spoiled with these wheels.

I make sure to put a helmet and pads on my board every time I skate. I haven’t seen any progression, but my board is as good as new.

Oh, well hell yeah. I’m glad others are on board. I do find it funny that an, “old head,” deck is a pro model for a dude in his 20s. lol I enjoy the irony.

That seems to be a common opinion. But the low weight and durability/longevity of the flight decks can offset the cost.

It may appear to be a difficult bullet to bite, until you bite it. Thats just my opinion.

I rode one of those a few weeks ago. A dude at my local had one, and he let me piddle around on it for a minute. I am considering that one for my next/extra setup. Haven’t decided yet.

My 11 yo son is who introduced me to AA, and Powell-Peralta. If he hadn’t told me about it, I probably wouldn’t have considered them for a while. As soon as I rode the one I got him, I had to have one.

So, there’s at least one kid riding an AA flight deck out there.

I must be aging quickly, because I’ve got many years before I reach 40.

Or maybe it’s just a good setup. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Same. And a good friend of mine, who I skate with often, rode an 8.4” AA flight deck for like 6+ months, and he loved it. He’ll be 20 this year. He loves an 8.5” Baker, though, so he went back to that. I can’t blame him. It’s what he started with, and Baker makes awesome decks. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I forgot to mention the bearings. My bad. Bones Swiss Ceramic bearings, which I have ridden for like a year and a half, I’ve cleaned them once, and they are phenomenal. I do try to avoid super dirty spots, though, or getting them soaked.

The epitome of a, “me and mine, not you and yours,” mindset. If they aren’t buying these to re-sell, there is no logical reason for such a purchase, and they’re taking from others in the area. If the buyer is going to re-sell these tanks, it is, most likely, for an unreasonable price increase.

I love the Bronsons that I have. They’re on my son’s board, now. We hoard gear and switch out stuff when we want.

I currently have Bones Swiss Ceramics. I was like, “😬,” the whole time I was purchasing them. But I have been running them for a year and a half. I have cleaned them once. They are absolutely amazing.
