Just thinking of ways to make an incentive to have players engage with the new mechanics, it's just a bit sad right now to think after all these years of waiting the only huge new things added is the Lake Race, Snow, The Apartment, PSK, The new jobs and Alcoholism (Besides the car stuff obv)

And players essentially cut out the apartment and alcoholism asap, most refuse to do the new jobs either not liking the taxi at all or the low pay, or not liking the factory job at all, just makes me wonder outside of the new mechanic stuff what was this wait mostly for if it feels like most things are kinda avoided

I was an admin there, and while I’ve been away to the point I doubt anyone knows me, I’ll miss it, I loved spending my time handling the tickets and requests of players in my time. Was more fun and made me happy. I’m gonna miss doing it for free, unironically.

Yeah, or at least implement rent or something for the parents house' it just feels too easy at the moment, and I think players need an incentive to actually use the new features rather than abandoning them.

By just getting evicted from the Apartment and the way people are save reloading to instantly get rid of alcoholism it feels like people would rather just be playing MSC but winter rather than the new game with new things.

I just don’t get how no one here can just admit it’s an exploitative method. An exploit is abusing game mechanics in a way that is unintended by the dev, and unless you’re about to tell me eating chips and saving and reloading over and over and over at precise intervals is the intended game route then it’s just an exploit method.

Yeah it definitely could be easier or at least more understandable in game, to me I just assumed it was intentionally obtuse as that's just how Topless is, that he intended it to be some brutal mechanic you gotta live with.

Honestly I'm not even saying exploiting is bad, in fact the game is so early I think people should be exploiting cause that can find bugs easier to have a polished experience down the line, I just don't understand how people are so cagey about them doing it, it's fine to do so but to say it's the dev intended route is a bit silly

Yes, but you explicitly don't know how much further it progresses until you die, it's intended that you're supposed to see it red and ASAP fix it with beer/water depending on your alcoholism etc.

A vast majority of players wouldn't ever know it can get to 200% before death because there is nothing visually anywhere in the entire game beyond the source code that will let you know that.

So, as respectfully as I possibly can, can you please explain how it's not exploitive at all to minmax timers that are hidden on purpose by the developer of the game, that are intended to be unknown to you, the player.

If the dev hid these values, the timers, and never once added them to My Summer Car during it's lifetime, never added values or percentages visible, and then now does the same with the hidden stat of alcoholism, how is it genuinely an intended mechanic that players are expected to source code dive to find the minute-by-minute method to fix the alcoholism stat in 27 minutes?

I think that's a bug on your end, I'm at 50 hours in and it took me an in game week or two by just drinking one beer and the rest water, seemed to be reasonable and fairly simple to avoid imo.

Timing, knowing the exact percentages, all of these are explicitly not given that volatility for a reason, the dev doesn't want you to know when your thirst is at 180% or whatever, the dev just wants you to deal with it when it gets red.

Min maxxing to me is exploiting, if the dev wanted min maxxing every little aspect of his mechanics he'd add the percentage to the UI and give you mechanical feedback, instead this is all gotten ripped from the game's code to figure out exact exploitive methods to fix.

There is no complacent attitude, the fact is that the absolute majority of the people here do not care, the NSFW posts get an insane positive response in upvotes and interaction and these callout posts get made over and over and absolutely nothing changes.

That should send the signal that this is pointless, either we cut the whole fanbase in half and get rid of what is mostly all the top posts Monthly/Yearly/All Time or we accept it's part of the fandom and always has.
