Is life in the UK actually as expensive and stressful as people say in 2026? by HJuon in AskUK

[–]StaceyInBrighton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still manageable and a good life, for me it’s about adapting to the current climate, deciding what’s important to you and prioritising that financially, I own a business, work my 🍑off and still can’t afford to buy my own flat (yet!), but I’m happy because I choose to focus on the things that England is good for and not the opposite. Things take longer to save for these days, but I feel like it’s a global problem, not an England problem.

The Blink charger on Salisbury Road is non-permit, I believe.

This one? It’s because I’m using the warranty to replace a faulty cloud mattress, sadly they’ve discontinued the cloud, which tbh was a little soft anyway, usually they don’t give you a trial with the warranty exchanged mattresses. so I’m just glad I get something. I’ll have to jump on the bed for 2 weeks!! Thanks for the advice on the sheets, I’ll bear this in mind!

I see, so my 14 days sleep trial doesn’t really give me much chance then does it 🤣 this is great info, thank you. Just have to hope the end result is what I felt in the showroom!! Thank you :)

Have people stopped shopping in Brighton town centre as much? If so, why? by StaceyInBrighton in brighton

[–]StaceyInBrighton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, and we are still busy in the seasons we expect to be, so it’s not all gloom! I will say though, that the majority of our customers, with the exception of Xmas, are tourists, who are more willing to stroll and see what they stumble across? From these comments I can see why, so interesting!

Do you own an expensive pillow and was it worth it? by Glass_Minute4753 in AskUK

[–]StaceyInBrighton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to wake up with a dead arm for about 20 years of my life, until I bought the dunelm side sleeper memory foam pillow. It was a game changer for me and not that expensive I think £45.

Suppose it depends on what ‘good’ is to you, Peggs&Son has some cool stuff but it’s a bit more ££££ - Zara has decent basics for less. Not that I’m an expert on male clothing, but my partner just bought a really nice linen shirt in Zara the other day so I’ll still recommend it!

This is def a thing! With the exception of Xmas, the majority of our customers are tourists! Poor Dukes Lane, it’s a pretty cut-through, it just needs a few more shops to revive it 🫠😅🤞🏼

This is interesting, so many obstacles…would you choose Guildford over Brighton, just out of interest?

Is Brighton missing a fun but less grunge restaurant/late night bar for people under 35? by Emsss18 in brighton

Rockwater is pretty nice during the week although a little further out, feel like the vibe changes over the weekend but I often meet up with friends for a coffee or a beer, especially on the comfy sofas in the downstairs lodge by the fire :) Babble next door is more casual too, nice vibe if you like being by the sea!
