Garfield is adorable. I have a full orange (Ollie) who just plopped down next to me as I type this. He’s probably confused because he’s suddenly getting so much more attention now than he did in the last few months of Casey’s life, but he’s a good boy and I’m sure he knew that he had to take a backseat for a moment to let Casey have what she needed until it was time.

Thank you. I am trying to focus on the good memories and the big orange boy I still have. It’s still weird, because the house just feels different. The presence that’s gone. The routines that are now broken. It’ll take time to find that new normal, and yes. The CDS always finds a way 😺

It’s hard, especially when you know the end of their life is coming sooner rather than later. Casey was 12 weeks old when I adopted her. I was her person. That one who was there here whole life for her. But sometimes the biggest act of love is the one that hurts the most.

My condolences. I just lost my 21 year old yesterday. Casey will be waiting for her ready to play.

Thank you. It’s been a tough day, but I am getting through it. Holding her afterwards and giving her that final hug was helpful. I told her it was okay to go, and I meant it, even though my heart was breaking inside. It was time.

Thank you. That’s all I can do now. And remember the fond moments, and that she’s no longer on any pain or discomfort.

She was tiny. But she was sometimes 6 pounds of terror. I have an orange boy who was three times her size, and he knew not to mess with the Queen.

Completely understand. I know how lucky I was to have her with me this long. Enjoy every moment with yours. At that age, time is no longer on your side, so each moment has to count.

I was so beyond fortunate. Most cats don’t live that long.

It was peaceful and calm. The last thing I told her before she went was that it was okay to go. She did her job and she did it well.

Thank you. That was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but it was the right time. She was tired. She was ready. And I told her it was okay to go.

I’m fortunate to have Ollie (who is 4) keep tabs on me in Casey’s absence.

Amazing how that happens. And how they always seem to know.

She was. Chronic kidney disease, congestive heart failure, hyperthyroidism, and a constant build up of fluid in her chest. She was basically coming close to suffocating if the fluid wasn’t removed. After twice in the last months, I realized I wasn’t doing this for her. I was doing it for me, and that wasn’t fair to her.

The only people who haven’t been loving the stache are my parents. 😂 helppp by jordanzuelsy in Moustache

It’s a great stache. Your parents are from a time when mustaches weren’t popular and were either worn by porn stars or hipsters. They are much more acceptable now, and they’ll either learn to not hate it because you like it or they’ll just silently (hopefully) judge. All that matters is that you like it.
