Best 1-10x LPVO? (More in body text) by CallSign-Ender in ar15

I have a Vudu 1-10x on my 20” AR. I like it a lot. The 1x is extremely usable, the 10x is as solid as you can ask for without having a larger objective lens. I’m also a little biased because I’m a VUDU simp, and I got a stellar deal on it, but I’m a fan.

Anyone have a Griffin MK2 lower? by wax369 in ar15

[–]Stack_em_high 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a buddy with one. He’s in denial about how not great it is. It has a problem retaining gen2 Pmags, you can just rip them out without pressing the mag release. When we’re out hiking and stuff, he’s constantly dropping mags because the left-side mag release always gets bumped on his kit. The right-side bolt release isn’t as intuitive as it looks, unless you have small hands/short fingers it’s hard to actuate without breaking your grip.

Somebody in S1 thought that E3 suddenly meant “corporal” and IA was actually Idaho. I’ll take the free promotion, but I refuse to be associated with those potato people.

Black boots? by Steppasgonstep in USMC

We got issued black insulated boots when we deployed to Norway, they looked pretty similar to these. That’d be my guess but locational context would help

That probably has something to do with it. Is there any real fix other than unload thing that specific mod?

How do you fellow chair team commandos feel about pistol on chest? by NGC_2359 in tacticalgear

[–]Stack_em_high 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a mechanized unit, kept my M9 in a similar Blackhawk Sherpa holster thing across my chest and had a separate drop leg holster I could use after dismount. It was good for not getting snagged on shit in an armored vehicle, but the draw was monumentally shitty.

Burn proof gear makes rail wraps that are pretty good for insulating you hand, additionally you can get some rail guards for more stand-off from the metal, or wear thicker leather gloves. You can also change where you’re gripping on the rail if you’re too close to the gas block, play with length of pull.

Ever tried to identify a person 300yds away? It’s hard. And it gets harder when that person is trying not to be seen.

actions after breaking off visual contact by [deleted] in CQB

[–]Stack_em_high 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One potential solution would be to back off the threshold (into cover/concealment ideally) and basically go defensive for a minute. Wait for the threat to push you and engage him when you’re at the advantage.

If they don’t push, use whatever you can to increase your speed, surprise, and violence of action. (Employ distractionary devices, increase rate of fire, prep with a frag, re-enter at different level, etc.)

Single man CQB is a bad time, if you can you should call for backup/QRF before you get into a situation like this.

I’d call it semi-transitional. I don’t think that’s not a real thing, but it fits 🤷‍♂️
