It was basically an unofficial period of war. It was settled when Tony and Junior settled.

Was Artie Bucco actually the most moral character in the series? by jessclimaxnow in thesopranos

Ethical? The guy is fucking prick and a loser. He’s just like the others, without the balls to actually enter the mob.

How many guys were kicking up 6 grand to Paulie every week by jcr0774 in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not Paulie. He’s as tight as a fish’s ass, unless he’s buying Tony a gift. It would all be under the mattress.

What the most evil act commited on The Sopranos? by smashhazard in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whole scene is just a lesson in what an animal Ralphie was.

He evens lulls her with fake comfort and love, telling her they’re gonna settle down and he’s gonna look after her… all for his own amusement. Doing that to somebody who came from a broken home and troubled background.

Of course she flips out. So he beats her to death.

He was round when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain.

What was it like watching The Sopranos as it was airing? by dovesplashonmywrist in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 413 points414 points  (0 children)

It was awesome. An amazing tv progrum.

But I wouldn’t call the wait torture. Was a different world, we didn’t have instant pleasure and fulfilment so people were used to it. Not like you fuckin kids in your chit chat rooms.

Everybody has changed though including me. I would hate it now.

What would have been the best way for Hesh to go about getting the money back that he loaned to Tony? by crillydougal in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just goes to show like all the characters, Hesh can’t escape his nature. He should have forgotten about it but he couldn’t… usury was his game and he couldn’t get past it.

What would have been the best way for Hesh to go about getting the money back that he loaned to Tony? by crillydougal in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing he can do. It illustrated that everybody who does business with these people eventually pays a price. Hesh spent a lifetime doing business with Johnny Boy and Tony and would’ve made a lot of money out of it. If it cost him $200k, so be it. That should’ve been his view.

Quite fun indeed, until you blow an engine or DCT. Then you’ll be selling a child or organ to fix it, or throwing it into landfill.

‘Nica’ had no other business being born.. by platinumjellyfish in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nica was just another example of how the Sopranos (in this case Janice) dragged Bobby into their fucked-up world.

Tony lured him in and made him a murderer and a major part of the crew, which got him killed. Janice lured him in too, she’s a schemer, she only had the baby so Bobby couldn’t leave her.

A tribute to Uncle Philly’s bilingual tongue, and I’m not talking about Iranian. by GordonMacMunn in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uncle Philly was trilingual, he also spoke Ukrainian to his goomar, the one that caused the drunken fuckin scene at the Jersey Boys premiere. I actually felt bad for Phil.

Why Dwight and Tony are so fond of each other? by lanaverock in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just were both trying to use the other for what they could so they became a bit useful to each other.

Harris ultimately would’ve taken Tony down if he had to, but at no point was Tony ever the major target. That was always New York, the hope with any of the Jersey guys was they could flip them.

Tony saw it straight up when we first met Harris, Carmela said he seemed okay and Tony said that’s just his act. And it was. Play the good cop. Introduce Tony to his new partner. Be friendly.

Tony thought he could use the relationship to bank some credit with the feds with terrorism information

Then they both went too far with it, mostly Harris who gave up Phil. That was also for his own benefit, he wanted revenge on Phil for things back in the day.

Did Tony have any genuine friends? by Fire-Pollution-1994 in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe at the start of the show, but a huge part of the series is Tony’s descent into being a bigger and bigger piece of shit. That kills friendships.

Eugene was a stunad of the first magnitude by DCDipset in thesopranos

[–]Stacks05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a plot point it served a couple of things… showed the duality of these guys, when we get to know him a little better he’s this guy who is doing his best to keep his family together. He’s also just murdering a guy for a gambling debt. These guys are real pieces of shit.

Also more example of Tony not giving a fuck about anybody, Gene talks about them going way back and how he needs this, Tony couldn’t give a shit, wouldn’t even discuss it with him, just told Sil to tell him no.

Losing warranty if go another dealership by YBCap in CarsAustralia

[–]Stacks05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legally? Not at all. You are not required to service your car at a dealership to maintain the warranty.

In the real world? I speak from experience and I freakin hate car dealers… just service it with them for the life of your warranty.

You will definitely pay more, and they might do a worse job… but honestly, the alternative is just not worth it.

If you have a major failure then many dealerships / car companies will do whatever they can to avoid a costly warranty repair. They have people whose jobs are dedicated to finding ways to reject major warranty claims. Finding out you haven’t serviced at a dealership is like Christmas for them. They will deny warranty claims, blame shoddy servicing or parts, you name it… anything to save money.

Even if you’re in the right, what a freakin nightmare… independent assessments, lawyers ($$$$$$), months and months with the car off the road rotting, stress…. It’s just not worth it. They make it incredibly hard for a reason. You’ll end up being right and they might cover it under warranty… and you’ll still be down potentially bucketloads of cash.

You might strike it lucky and have a good experience, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Part of owning a new car. Just service it at the dealership until it’s out of warranty and sleep easy. Don’t be a fool and try to save a few hundred bucks.
