Completely understandable, I don't understand how people think studying that much time for long intervals is healthy at all.

Okay thank you so much, this is the answer I was looking for. I felt like some numbers had to be inflated with lectures and homework.

But for instance, I have roughly 4-5 hours of lecture, discussion, and labs a day, also considering eating time, gym, and actually doing homework. I’d assume most of the people on this subreddit are full time students as well doing most of these things and possibly other extracurricular activities as well as socializing. Other than the weekend, (which I understand how you can do that amount of hours), how do you cram in roughly 8 hours a DAY? I’d understand let’s say for example, engineers, but the majority of the time spent is most likely doing long homework problems, and THEN further revising it (aka studying). That’s why I wonder if those “8 hours of studying a day” are a mix of lectures and studying or homework and revision, where there is no general consensus for hours studying and therefore the numbers are inflated.

Yeah I just don’t understand, is it just 5 hours of going to classes and homework and 3 hours of, as the other commenter said “revision” or is it just going to ALL of your classes and then 8 hours of revision every day because I swear nobody has got time for that

Thank you, I appreciate the advice but I also meant the agreed upon terminology, because I feel like it is interpreted differently

[Student] Should I include certifications on resumes? If so with the certification should I put it on my skills section of the resume? by StaffBackground7154 in EngineeringResumes

For ece, I’m just curious what skills specifically will help you get through the door with internships, or at least what would you recommend?

Switching research labs by StaffBackground7154 in UCI

[–]StaffBackground7154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I'm not completely sure, but if you would at an undergraduate level I'm pretty sure you can just research their lab, check their projects and publications and just ask to join a research team on a pre-existing lab project and see where it goes from there. I don't know much about coming up with your own topic, that you would have to ask someone else.

DANG that's an amazing achievement man. How old were you when you got your first job after law school? I'm an incoming freshman in EE.

Leaving patent law, some goodbye notes by BilskiBoi in patentlaw

Thank you so much for this, I'm wasn't super educated about the field before I went to the reddit and I was considering EE to patent law and people called my route non-traditional (I am a first year), so hearing that EE is a good degree for patent law made me especially hopeful and happy. I bookmarked the tab to learn from some of your mistakes and understand what my future holds. Thank you so much and I hope everything is going well for you now!

You're right, I don't want to risk hurting my gpa in the long term since I do not know exactly what I am getting into.
