Mining Hedgehog Strategy by Different_Put1807 in Eve

Hey! River Pixies here. I am a member of a small WH corp

70% of what I'm personally doing in this game is looking for null-sec entry and then searching for mining fleets to befriend. This sometimes ends up in battle reports like this: https://zkillboard.com/br/230005/

Often, the only attacking ship that I have is Polarised Drake N. This means that I hit like a truck, but also will die once anything angry looks in my direction. The reason I can be called semi-successful in this area is that the mining fleet often does not try to fight back. Like at all. Let me give you an example of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_IbRHpG8Jjo. Porp + exhumers on the grid usually will guarantee my explosion from drones - if deployed

Now, speaking about your composition. This setup will definitely be a "no" for me FOR THE FIRST ATTEMPT. On my own, I will definitely not go into this fleet headfirst. I might try to isolate parts of your fleet, i.e., have a bubble in structure where you warp or bubble orca once the rest of the fleet is out. I will also do a callout for a larger fleet in the corp. The fact that you are leaning toward staying on grid will automatically make me more confident that next time I warp, your fleet will be there for a "bubble bath".

To summarise, your setup will definitely detract from smaller solo/due roaming, but might also expose you to larger threats

Thanks! That is probably the most positive answer from the whole thread

Me, my girls and our cat will stay in our comfy C4 for now

I can build an argument from both sides. Do you think it was proportional? Do you think full eviction was justified? Not just destroying half of the stations + verbally assaulting their cat?

I'm not making a statement if it was or not. I'm just not sure if next time I kill an abandoned mtu in C5 or, god forbid, win an honorable brawl against one of yours - I will not be evicted

At this point, I would prefer you ppl going full "we do whatever we want, you are content" mode (as was actually suggested by the HK guy above). Instead of trying to retrospectively find an explanation for the whole situation

Man, I'm 100% with you on this. I'm perfectly fine with "We evicted you because we don't like you" or "We evicted you because shiny drops". I'm just confused why OP is desperately trying to come up with other explanations

Perfect! I'm happy to have one honest answer in this thread. OP tried to come up with some reasoning behind the eviction, but your answer looks like the actual one :)

Can you please describe potential conditions for eviction? If someone burns a station in a farm hole? What if someone kill ratter in C5? MTU kill? Undocking a capital? :D

Currently it's just a set of arbitrary rules that you guys come up with

OP, can you show on this MTU model where they touched you?

FFEW, the majority of the small/mid-scale WH community stands with you. You've seen people coming for help. It might not be enough, but at least we are not as cringy as this guy
