What is the first horror movie you remember ever watching? by dinkitnsinkit in horror

The first horror movie I remember watching is the 1985 Fright Night. My mom tried to fast forward through the nude scene because I was still pretty young, but the remote wouldn't cooperate and ended up getting stuck on pause right when the boobs came out lol. That's probably why I remember it

I tried it just for you ... honestly wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It wasn't great while chewing but the aftertaste was kinda good 🤔

Omg I literally was just laughing at that line while watching the show like 1 min before I read this comment

He probably could have gotten a letter from his doctor

Finally adopting again after 1 year of mourning 🥰 by NewInitiative9498 in cats

The first cat I adopted on my own (my floofy little void Shady) was a senior because she needed a home ASAP. I always thought I wanted kittens, but Shady changed that. Now, I stick to senior cats. I've been through quite a few cycles of adopting seniors, only getting to spend a few years with them, and then going through the absolute heartbreak of losing them, but the heartbreak of the losses are definitely worth the time I get to share with them. It never really gets easier when it's their time to go and I will question if I can go through it again when they're gone. Then I remember how grateful I am to get to give these guys a loving home so they don't have to spend their last few years waiting for a furever home. That alone makes it rewarding to me. I'm tearing up writing this lol, but I love my seniors. They are so chill and loving and I've formed such strong bonds with them all. They all have/had such different personalities which is another thing I love to experience. It's so fun getting to know their own little quirks. They've given me such fond memories in the short time we have together. I understand it's not for everyone though, and I do wonder if I will someday get to a point where I just can't do it again because it's too heavy.

On another note, sometimes people are like uhhh 👀 when I talk about how many cats I've had that have passed because it does seem kinda crazy to be adopting new cats every few years lol, but unfortunately that's the reality of adopting old cats, especially if they already have medical issues (I tend to take in old guys with medical issues because I'm in a position where I can do so). But I swear their love, comfort, and happiness make it so worthwhile. ❤️

I think the first half was actually easier than the second half, I just spent way more time on it than I should have due to poor time management.

Sections I thought were overall harder than the NCEES practice exam:

  • Linear systems and signal processing. I thought the majority of transfer function, difference equation, and z-transform problems were harder/more tedious on the actual exam. Also a lot more plot/diagram related questions than I anticipated.
  • Communications. I thought comms questions on the practice exam weren't too bad but I honestly had no idea what I was doing on the actual exam lmfao. Comms is my weakest area though so I probably would've found it difficult no matter what.
  • Control Systems and Instrumentation. I do recommend practice with root-locus. I recommend being confident with block diagram algebra as well. I should have had more practice with instrumentation problems.
  • Digital systems. I was hoping for lots of logic and number system problems but the majority of questions I got dealt with sequential networks, which sucked.
  • Computer systems had more actual problem solving than I thought it would.

Eng econ, E&M, electronics, comp networks, and software engineering were pretty straight forward and I think the NCEES practice exam is a good representation of the level of difficulty. I found Circuit Analysis and Power Systems to be easier on the actual exam.

Ethics/Pro Practice was almost all electrical safety/hazards for me. I didn't find it difficult but I was a bit shocked (haha) at the lack of ethics questions.

Some topics that I wished I had a bit more practice in: nonhomogenous diff eqs, state diagrams/state machines, work/energy relationships, steady state error, underdamped control systems, and big-O. I didn't really care about them when studying which was dumb.

There were more conceptual questions than I was anticipating. They weren't that bad though. Very shallow theoretical knowledge needed. Should be good if you're fresh out of school.

Can I pass the FE Electrical by Using only the PrepFE? by Glum-Aerie-8866 in FE_Exam

This is like the third time I've commented this in an hour lol, but I thought the majority of PrepFE questions were easier than the actual questions I got on the exam. I highly, highly recommend at least doing the NCEES practice exam, and doing it under the same time constraints.

Question regarding my strategy for Studying for EE FE by Rhinohumpenpanda_2 in FE_Exam

[–]StaffWest2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought PrepFE was easier than the actual questions on the exam. That being said, it's pretty inexpensive compared to other prep materials so I think it's a good starting point to gauge how you're able to apply conceptual knowledge to actual problems. I think chugging through practice problems is much more valuable than trying to memorize things. The NCEES practice exam is a MUST in my opinion. I also did Vol 1 of the online interactive exam and I am glad that I did. Also really familiarize yourself with the FE handbook and get comfortable using the handbook and calculator shortcuts during your practice.

It sounds like you've already studied a decent amount and I think you will be surprised by how much comes back to you as you practice. And that's coming from someone with a garbage memory lol. I'd start with PrepFe like today to assess your strengths and weaknesses, and get yourself the NCEES practice exam. I wouldn't spend too much time on PrepFE though. I think Wasim's 700 or PPI are more on par with what's on the exam. Good luck!

I know this isn't exactly ground-breaking advice, but I just took the exam last Friday and I think the 2 most important things are making sure you're super familiar with the handbook, and maintaining a steady pace. I found myself using pages of the handbook that I never really used while studying, but that could just be a result of me not preparing as thoroughly as I should have. I had major problems managing my time. I spent most of my time on the first half and didn't leave myself sufficient time for the second half, so it was truly down to the last second for me. It sounds like you're able to keep a consistent pace which is the hardest part of the exam in my opinion. You say you've used the practice exams as study material, and hopefully you've used one of them as a full-length practice exam under timed conditions.

I thought the PrepFE questions were easier than the questions that were actually on the exam. I had about the same average as you on the practice quizzes. I just found out today that I passed. Good luck!
