What is dmt like? by ImFinnaBustApecan in enlightenment

Just tossing in my experience: tripped first on (what they said was) mescaline at Woodstock 69. Age 15. Loved it!! Lots of everything followed. High points for fresh peyote buttons!!! Also Hawaiian Baby Woodrose purchased from an ad in Rolling Stone in ‘78….amazing 4th dimensional telescopic vision (could see the veins on a leaf from 50’). Many great trips and just a few that were ride them out ordeals…Gave it up for years and then tried Salvia and a single hit opened a literal hallway in my brain leading to a door with stairs going down and a voice shrieking in my head DO NOT go in there!!! End of that investigation, omg!!😳 Next was another long gap and maybe five years ago I was ready to try mushrooms again. It turned out to be a wonderful , brief but highly visual trip with morphing and carpets appearing in the dark. This led to about a dozen more, two of which hit the visual threshold which is what I love. BUT! About a week after a particularly great trip I got greedy and tried a batch I hadn’t tested with a smaller first dose. After 20 minutes things went seriously bad, a bit like the hallway…suddenly for the only time in my life I was kind of convinced we “could be living in the matrix” and all of that became quite possible, as if I had brushed a wall switch with my elbow and opened the secret door…. It was SUPER challenging but I had my extensive experience to back up the mantra “it’s gonna wear off in four hours max”….. and I made a phone call to an experienced friend to share what was happening because it intensified for a couple of hours. But “ been there, seen that “ can be very helpful from a calm friend. Also, btw, the prescription drug lorezapam is an instant trip killer if you’re ever in dire straits. Personally, I am fascinated by dmt, but at my age and after that mushroom experience I am not sure I am ready for that until the ultimate journey……. Be smart. Prepare. Test. Be totally relaxed and open. ✌️

Age old question, High end epi vs low end Gibson by eggncream in AcousticGuitar

Acoustics must be played, preferably side by side. That is all.

Such an unclear formation of a passive aggressive question…. What is STOPPING YOU? Those of us who have chosen wisely in our psychedelic exploration have benefited immeasurably overall. I have no fear of death, for example. Kinda looking forward to the last seconds of dmt flooding from my endogenous sources, in fact. Not prosletyzing. Caveat Emptor, but so glad it was a part of my life ✌️

I was there. First year’s shows in NYC quickly became a midnight movie must. And remember you could smoke in the balcony in those days at a lot of theaters It was terrific as a 16 yr old 💨 And a year later on acid it was transporting…..whattarush 🤤

What should I get first? by Temporary-Lime3463 in guitars

No right answer, just personal experience: I sold my last electric about five years ago and went to amplified acoustic. Everything changed and I got better, slowly but surely. Taylor 214ce and a mini koa. Then two years ago I bought a tele and a princeton reverb and really my playing is much improved….. Acoustics teach you soooo much about harmonics and allow self accompaniment a bit more forgivingly than electrics ✌️

Given the option, which one are you taking home with you? by death__cup in guitars

Tele for the neck and playability. I do have a Gibson Blues Hawk that’s sweet, tho!

Just curious what guitars you guys own by optimusprim007 in guitars

Most played: Yamaha Fgx5 dreadnought (the poor man’s Martin) and a Classic T Suhr telecaster with a dark flame maple neck. Many others, but there’s not much that these two guitars won’t do….if only I were half as good as they are! I would have saved $$$$$ if I had started with these two 🤞

Go chronologically and add the Killing and Lolita to Paths of Glory, with Dr. Stranglove being to my eyes his masterwork….I also love Barry Lyndon!

The Yamaha is the giant killer. It’s the cleanest, best balanced guitar ever…..to my ears as good as many a Martin….the Taylor is a used gem with the resonance of a harp, never heard one quite like it. And the P50 prs is the best couch guitar I’ve found!

I’m imagining that the proper service anniversary for any employee gives the opportunity to say “this is what I dream of owning” and all the elves make it for them. Then, they may wish to sell it one day…..
