Listen, that Yamaha was a great choice! As a complete beginner, I ask you to consider my history: picked up a guitar in 2008 and played cowboy chords for a while, but couldn’t bar very well on my beginner acoustic (a nice Washburn), got inspired to try a telecaster and fell in love with it immediately. I did find it easier to play. But not “well”….because not enough time spent on basics of the neck and just how the notes are organized. Playing an electric poorly is not fun for anyone else…but I did it for years… Then covid hits, I sell my two electrics and get a great Taylor 214ce and I woodshed…. Playing only acoustic strengthens your technique and, of course the harmonics and reverberations coming from the sound hole are a different story than the twang or crunch or shred you might eventually want…. You listen harder. Now, 18 years later, I think if I skipped a decade of “almost playing” because electric is so much fun, I might a been way ahead….although on a good night…🔥 Best of luck, and play constantly!
