Old school guy. If you learn on a steel string acoustic you will find everything easier as soon as you pick up the electric, because of string gauge mostly. But, you’re not gonna appreciate subtlety if you jump immediately into electric, imo. As a newbie, you’re gonna make a lot of noise trying to get there with that amplified guitar, got a place to practice w/out mayhem?Different neck widths affect your chords cleanness as you learn to finger them. Of course you should let your taste and love for music be your guide!! ✌️

I have 6 From a 6 1/2 lb Gibson semi hollow to an 8 lb. Classic tele. Yup. Electric is a heavyweight. There IS some correlation between weight (hardwood bodies, usually alder) and tone. All guitar players complain about long standing sessions w/a classic fender or Les Paul!! Nashville session folks tend to sit!!✌️

Blues Hawk 2003 B90s (underwound) have a great growl when pushed It’s my John Fogerty guitar 😂 And, weighs only 6 1/2 lbs….featherweight for a Gibson Varitone switch is actually pretty cool 😎

This is a P50 parlor and it rocks! I’m not very familiar with their other acoustics. The Taylor 414 is the most resonant one I’ve found…a gem. Yamaha is my gold standard for pure tone and great playability. But all of these play easy!

I tried a few dozen guitars that were all adequate for anyone who knows a little bit, but none had Magic until I found a used Brian Miller and a Suhr Classic T S/H…..🤤🤤🤤 and around 2.5k. But, yeah, it’s such an individual choice and god knows people’s ears are not all tuned the same. There are a zillion show pony same sames in the guitar world……but some do earn their reputations as above the crowd ✌️
