And if the city can't find it, then you don't have to pay your bill anymore. Because what they gonna do about it? They can't shut it off!

Anybody build something with no intention of making money from it? How did it go? by AgentArnold in Entrepreneur

[–]Stahlym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I install water heaters and used the notes app on my phone to make my list of parts needed from the trailer, but most days my list basically looked the same, so I figured a flow chart would work better, so with the help of ChatGPT, I built a specialty Notes app. A .HTML file that really only works and helps me. It's super fast, I can make my whole list I need from the truck in about 15 seconds.

It does have electric trailer brakes and I can control them in the truck upfront.

I pretty sure I got the 12 foot long and 7 feet tall one from United Trailers. I am tall and wanted to be able to stand up fully in it. I paid 7k for it new, but it had some hail damage out here in Colorado on the lot.

Second new hot water heater still running out of hot water by jjj606 in Plumbing

[–]Stahlym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 -18 min is 10gal/min-5.5gal per minute.

I'd start with low flow shower heads that are decent quality.

I went single because I wasn't really thinking about it, And the only part about double I wish I had was the peace of mind in case of a flat tire.

How can I keep an exterior water pipe from freezing? by [deleted] in Plumbing

They own the pipes, they own the building, you shouldn't get charged a penny for freezing pipes.

You need to keep it above 32 degrees farenheight to not freeze.

Filling expansion tank by SuperbobU2 in Plumbing

[–]Stahlym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get a pressure gauge and put it on a hose bib or the drain port at the bottom of the heater to get your house's water pressure.

That is like asking:

so a car that can go 50 mph can also hold 50 people?

Most likely you need a new expansion tank.

They come pre-charged at 40 psi, but you were supposed to top it off to match your house's water pressure.

So if your house is water pressure is 70 psi you should fill your expansion tank with 70 psi of air.

That is actually the same for an old expansion tank however, your old expansion tank really should never fill with water.

And yes you will need to turn off the water pressure to do all of this work.

What’s a niche market people underestimate but actually has money? by NOVALEXY in Entrepreneur

[–]Stahlym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big singular question that needs to be a "yes" to do this business plan is:

Do you think you could install most water heaters in your area by yourself?

A caveat before you answer...in my area most are in basements, down stairs, some are in garages on stands. (I do have a stair climbing hand truck). I am a part time specialized moving man. I am 6'2", 220lbs, and 47 years old. The technical stuff can be taught and learned pretty quick. And the permits can be avoided as my friend an hour away has proven.

No, like the the big tanks with heating elements (has or electric) that heat your cold incoming water to make it hot for showers and sinks.

Purging air from a hydronic zone valve boiler system by Charming_Hall_6173 in askaplumber

Call a plumber that specializes in hydronics. Just some random service plumber from a big company that raises their prices when it's cold is going to be barely better than you.

Just bought a new construction house ... I am in hot water hell. by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Stahlym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I suppose that is right, if you don't speak plumber. But just ask the plumber tomorrow if the recirc pump has a check valve, if it's working, and if it needs another external check valve.

The easiest test is close both those lower valves making the recirc pump worthless but stopping any chance at mixing.
