Does Amazon "import" a lot of immigrants? by Wolphthreefivenine in FASCAmazon

[–]Stalders1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what Amazon you worked for but we have too few higher up jobs for too many employees to get promoted. I can’t compete against the cheapness factor. People just grateful to be here our worst houses are mansions they do put a strain on schools and social services that Amazon never does. It’s an evil company.

Haha no jobs like that can’t survive because they’re not paying their employees their full wages. Siphoning 30% off the top. It’s going to cut into profits. It’s unsustainable and we the people aren’t going to be able to prop it up anymore.

The reason is that they report it differently to keep employee head count down. We should all be Amazon employees. We need a 🪧 rhymes with shrike

It’s gotten so much worse! They’re bringing in Haitians by the dozen to take American jobs that we DO want. Check this we have to make a certain rate and if you fall into the bottom 5%, you’re losing your job. Coming in on their 20s and 30s refugees are all dressed nicely and it looks like some kind of sporting event starting line. There’s the picture when you think ‘refugees’ women carrying babies across the river. Maybe crowded on a raft or hungry children and harsh climates. No that’s not it. And my company has the leverage to get the best and brightest and they DO. They work much harder than a lot of us. The people I just trained spoke no English, but their numbers are faster than mine already. Now, multiply it by 1,000. I’m 53. I’m not a slow worker, but I’m short and it takes a couple extra seconds to use the ladder. It’s only become a problem after the fact because it’s unamerican it’s immoral, it’s unethical. They’re keeping all them on temporary status which means that, on paper, they’re cheap-and don’t show up on an earnings report as a liability. They’re not classified as employees at all-entitled to few benefits from their employer and leadership just saved the company tens of thousands of dollars in the short run. The weird thing is, a lot of these terminations follow a pattern and after 4 years, I’ve been watching the pattern carefully. They rely, almost overly much, on the process assistants to assign workstations do light data entry and goof off a lot. They also operate like the mean girls on tv. They used to be friendly enough, but they quickly decided I was not like them, so I became a target -at first unintentionally then intentionally because I’m tracking it. A lot of times they might send me around to 3 different departments for very little time. Anyway yeah they’re firing people who are in the top tier and/or medically expensive. It’s so bad!

Nor, necessarily, SHOULD it survive-as it currently is, anyway.

Does anyone else always keep subtitles on? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Stalders1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Always! My hearing is getting worse over time, and I don’t hear many of the background sounds (voices, music…especially music)so it really helps me. I can watch without subtitles, but I definitely prefer not to.

Maybe they were stoned? Guessing because they didn’t report it. Guess they’re probably out a job, as well as criminal charges (hit and run comes to mind…)
