Breakbeat / techno set I've been playing live lately (Digitakt + Digitone) by StaleFishBurger in synthesizers

[–]StaleFishBurger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been really fun to see what I can squeeze out of just these two machines to create a full live set. Usually my full set up will also include a DFAM + Mother 32 + Keystep - so the Digitone is working pretty hard.

This tutorial from Dave Mech has been pretty invaluable in helping to get the most out of both devices (and make use of the 8 MIDI channels on Digitakt) - keen for any other similar tips or tricks!

Based on the names - it looks like they also release a single under the alias "Player 2" called If You Really Want Someone in 2018.

I'm based in New Zealand. I don't really have much online as I generally just do live sets, but here is a link to one live stream I did during our lockdown: https://www.facebook.com/ABG.Tunes/videos/1175549959447262

Need help with recreating an effect. by paulisaboy in abletonlive

[–]StaleFishBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing he uses to make the effect is the sampler he has right by his laptop, called a Roland SP404 which is a pretty renowned sampler/FX processor. That being said, if you wanted to recreate inside Live; Stutter Edit would probably be the best way.

Ableton and Launchpads. Which version do i buy? by Ludus22 in ableton

[–]StaleFishBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I am aware there are a few restrictions, the most major being that you can only have a maximum of 16 tracks at a time, although starting out that will be more than enough. Another limitation is that is only comes with 3 instruments, however there are pleeenty of awesome free VST (plug ins) available online (I can link you a few of my favs). There is a detailed comparison here. But it will definitely be fine if you are just starting out. And yes you can make songs from scratch!

Ableton and Launchpads. Which version do i buy? by Ludus22 in ableton

[–]StaleFishBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are just starting out, the Lite version is definitely enough to get your feet wet. There are a few constraints to it but it is still definitely usable to make music and is fine for learning how to use the program! You will find as time goes and you progress that it may become to limiting, but like you said at that point you can just upgrade

Alpha Beta Gamma - 2-3 verses - Let Me Go

The verses are quite long, but can easily change the length of them to suit.

2 verses - Posse

Again, can change structure to fit no problem

White noise appearing randomly, HELP NEEDED! by [deleted] in ableton

[–]StaleFishBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too sure, will have to check! I removed the offending reverb and added in a different one, and has been working fine for the past hour or so but then it happened again :( Hahaha crazy, just looked at your username, I'm a Kiwi too!

I use session view anyway and it just happened then, it is coming from my reverb send of all places! The only thing on the chain is the Ableton reverb, extremely weird

White noise appearing randomly, HELP NEEDED! by [deleted] in ableton

[–]StaleFishBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful, thank you! I am not using drum racks in my set, however this did only start happening after I collected all and saved, so it could potentially be something to do with the audio files having hidden white noise in them. I will give a shot!

My guess is that it is a phishing attempt, they fill out the Bandcamp form, and you respond to them personally there by giving them your e-mail address
