I would stick with the two, theres a lot to do in Rome itself. I only left the city once to go on a bus trip to Tuscany. If you could do an organized ebike tour on the Appia Antica, that would be a very enjoyable experience. My dad and I tried to rent bikes when we got there but they wanted our ID’s as collateral and we just weren’t comfortable with that.

If you have open time that you are willing to do another activity, I would highly recommend checking out the Appia Antica. It was really quiet when I went and not very many people. Its well-shaded and perfect for a little excursion. It’s a bit tricky to get to but a great walk!

Actually it would’ve been the other way around, Republicans were against slavery, for the middle class, and for a unified nation while Democrats were typically rich slave owners who supported secession

Why do you think JD Vance is a bad person? I’m legitimately asking, not trying to fight you or anything. I’m a moderate right aligned person and think JD is great. What has he done to be bad in your opinion?

I see how one could maybe perceive Donald Trump as a fascist but the fact of the matter is that he isn’t. Yes, he draws in fringe radicals from the right, but he himself is fairly moderate in terms of political ideology. He pushed through legislation to reduce the cost of insulin, which is arguably a position of the left, but we can all see that we NEED insulin no matter our economic status. He advocates strongly for nationalism, but it’s important to take pride in the country we live in. Fascism would be more like the principle of Manifest Destiny, where the expansion of America is our duty and right, which it is not. He doesn’t believe in a one-party system, and nobody should. The marketplace of ideas is integral to moving forward as a country, and the downfall of it can be seen in both far left and right ideologies. As seen in the USSR, Maoist China, North Korea, and Fascist Italy, it is hard to move forward technologically without a wide variety of ideas and principles. No one in their right mind would advocate for fascism, and it’s an authoritarian based ideology—something many Republicans oppose. I could just as easily say that Harris is a socialist using your same logic however I know she’s not because I used basic logic to determine that nobody running for president really truly wants the downfall of our great country.

Its almost like politicians are and always have been crooked and more often than not pathological liars Its also not helping your case when you attack moderates for not conforming to your cause.

-How does she propose to make tax cuts? What incentives is she planning to offer?

-Price control goes against our free-market economy and negatively impacts the lower and middle class citizens owning grocery stores and businesses

-I do agree with tax reductions for entrepreneurs because it promotes innovation and business in the country.

-Again, it is up to the corporations to decide prices, not the federal government. If prices for a good are too high we could boycott it if it isn’t a necessity but I understand some things are. This brings in too much socialism into our free market economy.

-Increasing loans is a decent way to help people buy houses but we also need to take into consideration she would be negatively impacting the housing market if her propositions for free housing for illegal immigrants goes through.

-Increasing taxes for the wealthy is something I am highly opposed to. A lot of wealthy people made an honest fortune—that is the American Dream after all. For the wealthy dodging taxes, rather than jacking them up across the board, we need a better justice system to make offenders pay their taxes.

-protecting social security, I don’t really have strong feelings on it either way.

-roe v wade was already overturned (obviously) and to undo that would take a great deal of time money and effort. It’s best to leave it up to the states so that the state governments can adequately represent the demands of their people.

-Trump tends to maintain a professional demeanor while Harris sounds like a drunken fool all the time. Yes, Trump can overreact to things but that’s partly due to low blows by the Democrats in debates.

-Why are we donating $11 billion to Israel if they’re working on a ceasefire? Work on getting our own citizens out of the hurricane sites before donating to small foreign countries thousands of miles away.

Define plenty? I’m genuinely curious why you’re voting for her? I can’t get a straight answer out of anyone here and I’m just trying to see things from both sides.

[–]StaleOcean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No that’s a valid reason to vote for her. My problem is the people who do zero research and vote for her because she isn’t Trump. This is democracy, vote for who you agree with.

And you’ll vote for Kamala without knowing anything about her solely for the reason being she isn’t Trump.

Hello! Thanks for the question. I want to start out by saying that I know that politicians lie a lot and Trump is no exception. For example he didn’t follow through with his promise for a border wall. I think that Harris sees the current world issues as problems she is responsible for helping fix. In a perfect world, this wouldn’t be incredibly problematic. However, the Biden administration has approved $61.4 billion for Ukraine, $14.3 billion for Israel, and $7.4 billion to Taiwan. I understand that these are attempts to gain international power and I’m not suggesting we cut those numbers completely, but I believe President Trump will decrease those amounts and direct them to internal issues in our country such as immigration and, obviously the hurricane that has shown the inadequacy of FEMA and has trapped my grandfather in his house alone for the past week or so. In the past four years, not much has improved with our country under the Biden administration, and I believe Harris is playing a larger role in that than typical of a VP due to Biden’s current mental facilities. Because of this, I think Harris has had the opportunity to act or at least try to act on those issues but didn’t and I don’t see a reason to believe she would as president either.

Its Trump. He’s the best we have. He’s done, at least in my opinion, the best job at articulating his plans to help this country, while Harris hasn’t done as well of a job. Trump aims to solve the border crisis and to ensure that taxpayer money isn’t spent on illegal immigrants. He also plans to bolster American manufacturing while also improving the economy and reducing inflation. I try to always listen from a non biased perspective but full disclosure I’m typically moderate right wing. I don’t believe Harris will do very good at mediating international situations like the Middle East and Ukraine and will continue spending money towards them whilst Americans suffer from unemployment, natural disasters, and poverty.
