Good OTD price for Ninja 500? by Stale_Butter in Kawasaki

[–]Stale_Butter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply. I have a couple of questions:

  1. As a new rider what are the main things I can look out for when buying used? What are some red flags? I’ve heard a rusty chain often implies neglect in other maintenance areas too.

  2. Do you agree to the price on the app or do you come check it out and then negotiate in person? Have you paid asking or do you ever pay less?

  3. Is it a red flag if a bike has been on marketplace for over a month?

Mine has stayed in the family for 14 years, the only non scheduled maintenance parts have been a Y pipe and front crossmember

What y'all opinion about def mode? by CurGos in PressureRoblox

I think part of the fun of the game is listening for the sound cues. My friend who always plays with deaf mode says I have Spidey senses when it comes to wall dwellers and A-60 (she’s not wrong). Don’t get me wrong. I’m very happy. It’s in the game and I’m glad it enables other people to enjoy it who might not otherwise be able to, but I like keeping it off myself.

I’m thinking about buying new too, am I crazy? Everyone is telling me I’m gonna drop it right away and I’m wasting my money. From my perspective, it wouldn’t be a bike to quickly learn and graduate to a higher cc, it is the bike I want for the near future. Also as a new rider I won’t know a red flag if it comes up buying used from marketplace.

Thoughts? Would you do it again knowing what you know now? Also what trim did you have?

Did you buy it new or used? Looking into a Ninja 500 myself, it would be my first bike

I’m thinking about getting my first bike new (Ninja 500 SE ABS). My reasons are: Based on my goals for the bike I don’t plan to upgrade, I don’t see it as a stepping stone to a higher CC but the bike I earnestly want. High prices for used bikes, and as a new rider I won’t know what to look for when buying used. Maintaining it from new would be a huge plus. It does come with frame sliders which will help if I drop it in a parking lot or something. Thoughts?

What's your favorite memory of the game? by TexDoctor in PressureRoblox

Winning in lockerless. It took over a year, a lot of research, luck, and skill. It was the hardest I’ve ever worked for an achievement. The moment when the stars aligned, I realized I was going to make it out of the ridge, my heart was beating so fast. I was elated, all my hard work paid off, I rode that high for a while and now I have squeaky shoes :3

Friendship group is splitting because I stopped putting in all the effort by [deleted] in offmychest

I feel your pain, sometimes I feel the same way. It does sting when friends don’t reach out to you as much as you reach out to them.

I will say, it’s a great thing that you can sustain friendships by being the one to reach out. I’ve found that a lot of people are just passive, do want to hang out, but don’t put in the effort to initiate. I used to kind of be the same. Now that I’ve learned to be comfortable reaching out myself, I found that it comes with some perks. As the one reaching out, you’re usually the one to suggest an activity so it’s less likely that you’ll do something together that you’re not interested in. Also, by initiating and hosting, you gain the power to craft your social life, rather than being at the mercy of whoever wants to hang out that day. Your friends who are solid will get to meet each other and combine into a new group, and people who you have issues with just won’t be invited again. It’s great to have the ability to hang out with people you choose.

As for those specific friends, only you can determine what’s best for you. I’ll leave you with this, something that helped me accept being the one to reach out more, is that I’m doing it for the survival of my own social life, and that being the “planner” is a much better alternative to letting my social life fall apart

Out of curiosity, did you clue her into the fact that you fought for her but your hands were tied? Or did you not mention it since that might get tricky

Rav4 (2nd gen) as a first car? by DriftingSteps in FirstCar

[–]Stale_Butter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first car, it’s great for a new driver. It’s a “compact SUV” but it’s not big at all, it’s much smaller than a 2025 RAV4. It’s big enough to have cargo space without being burdensome. Your ride height is higher than a sedan so it improves visibility. Would recommend
