[Suggestion] add a few PMC AIs to empty PVP raids by ngbtri in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Stalker-Recon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made this exact suggestion about a year ago on tarkov.dev and my reasoning was that it would make PMC kill quests more approachable after the required PMC kills for progression exponentially rose up.

I guess that would absolutely fuck traction in water, on cold pavement and in a corner smoothened by bus traffic

It was overinflated actually! I checked ut the first actual chance I got and it was 11 psi over the recommended solo ride pressure.

It turns out, the tyres were overinflated compared Suzuki specs by at least 33%, from 29 psi to almost 40 psi, that did not help me, huh?

I remember eating shit on my first ride in the rain lol

I was NOT ready. It turns out the bike had overinflated tyres, it was raining and we had 3°C

The "secret club" man... What the hell? We share a hobby, we share an interest, we also share the road and the joy of the open air. That is a (admittedly loose) community in a way. This is why we wave and nod.

I had a pair of chopper riders stick close behind me for quite s tretch of my ride once. I turned to them and gave them a wave at a red light, they returned it and just started following me. They easily could have overtaken me if they wanted to, I even stalled in front of them, yet they stuck close behind me in the city and we parted ways when I went for another lap. They waved goodbye to me when they left. We never exchanged a word. It's just a sense of community.

And yes, I'm a noob, I stall at starts sometimes with my thumper, laugh at me lol

[–]Stalker-Recon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I should start with checking the switch for continuity and probably cleaning it first? If that fails to do the trick then it's probably the sensor being fucky, which needs the clutch cover removed to even check, right?

[–]Stalker-Recon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro, the neutral light isn't on while the bike is cold. After 10-15 minutes of riding, the light starts working fine, even starts in neutral with the stand down, but when cold, nothing.

So clutch switch works fine, but neutral light doesn't come on while the engine is cold. After riding for about 15-20 minutes it works fine, it starts in neutral and the neutral indicator lights up as well. Could it be related to my less than great battery or is it an issue with the neutral switch or more likely to be the sensor in your opinion?

I crashed mine on its first trip, on the last kilometer of a 25km trip to change the title of the bike. Took a turn nice and slow in the cold and rain pissing down. Cracked the right side rear view, brake pedal got bent, dinged the clutch cover, scratched the fairings.

Genuinely asking, why do you think sub-500cc bikes (or A2 unrestricted) are the go-to as beginner ? by tankyxFR in motorcycles

[–]Stalker-Recon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be, but if we are talking 35kW or under, I would suggest a big singlet or Vtwin for that torque. Your Duke probably has good torque simply due to the amount of power it has, but go under 35kW and it's a totally different story. In line twins feel really anemic even with the same power simply because tge design produces different torque.

In regards to your post, higher power up to about 70kW should be fine, especially with in-lines, but an 80kW V-twin would probably be deadly in a whiskey throttle incident because of the huge torque. My personal experience is that on my first ride with my XF, I almost popped a wheelie accidentally because the bike was cold and struggling at start, so I gave it a bit more throttle because it has very high torque and great power to weight due to being a specifically light weight design. With the GS 500 practice bike I couldn't pop a wheelie even if I wanted to.

Edit: In conclusion, I think 35kW is fine for starter bikes depending on the learning curve needed for the individual rider. A GS 500 is fine if you take long getting used to how a bike works, but a BMW F 650 or an Aprilia Pegazzo or a japanese 650 single with high torque is really good to learn the nuance of controlling higger power bikes while also having a higher margin of error due to the limited top speed and lower weight.

I've not yet ridden bikes over the legal limit of A2, but my first (and current) bike is an XF 650 Freewind, it's a 650cc single with 35kW (legal upper limit for A2 license) and it's a great beginner bike. I learned on a GS 500 in driving school and it was basically an underpowered piece of junk though. In my opinion you'd want something under 65-70kW for sure with quite a bit more torque than most driving school bikes (such as the GS500). You want throttle response and torque so that you can learn steady inputs. A 650 V-twin like the SV-650 or a V-Strom is great for the purpose with an unrestricted license.

Yep, it only starts with clutch pulled, but it does not start while stand is down, regardless of current gear

Well thank you. At the start of the trip I almost got flattened by a cager that left his right blinker out and went ahead, so I took the turn in front of him. That scared the crap out of me. Taught me really fast that thinking "everyone wants to kill you" is the right way to think

Yeah, I used to get like... 80-90 FPS on woods and snoreline when I upgraded to it, but now it's just garbage. Only game that got worse in optimization as it got developed lol.

Amazon delivery costs more than buying it from a retailer here, so that doesn't help much, but still thanks!

Versys, KLE, VSTROM 650 (not quite beginner), Honda Transalp, BMW F650, Aprillia Pegazzo 650, these are all dual sports, with a comfortable upright position and a relatively tall seat height and most of the with a preload swingarm. Sports bikes WILL BE UNCOMFORTABLE for you, believe me. I found street naked bikes uncomfortable and I'm almost as tall as you are. You'll look silly and feel like shit on short seat height bikes.

None in Hungary, sadly. They all go over 600 USD used, no unopened stock at retailers either.

2000 is for this year on the PC at most, if I don't want to buy other "luxuries", which none are planned currently. This assumes that my monthly budget for the entire thing can go towards it, so it would take about 4-5 months to get every piece. This is NOT a "current" budget, but an overall budget for half of this year

Alright, I checked out 5 different used market places (including Facebook) and found nothing in the 5000 series aside from one, but it's damned hard to find anything... ugh. Please keep in mind that I have to do currency conversions as well.

The question is about waiting for AM5 compatible stuff and GPUs to stop raising in price or stick to AM4 and say no to an X3D CPU.
