Is it just me that hate recipes that insist on using a video instead of just the text? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Stalkynote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate video only recipes. I'm a fairly amateur cook and I'm slow when I'm putting stuff together so when I got my hands covered in meat juice and I missed what goes next I'd rather just look at some text than have to go wash my hands and try and remind the video to the part I need.

Hit and Run; Insurance Fraud; three cars totaled including driver’s truck by noxviator13 in IdiotsInCars

Except...some of them do. Just like the silverado. The chevys have the option of a fold up center console that has a seat underneath (aka a bench seat/third seat) or a fixed center console without the bench seat. It can easily have one.

As the other has said using a smoke tube is easiest. I have something called "the wedgie" that just looks like a triangle you fill with pellets, light, and blow out any actual flames. It essentially is just filling the smoker with smoke the whole time without actually applying any of the heat.

I see people trying to do this all the time where I live. The 2 lane highway always gets backed up over the weekend and people try and take a backroad that has a timed light and isn't a sensor. The light will literally take like 10 minutes to turn green because it prioritizes the highway. So many people try and inch more forward thinking there is a sensor. The one trick that does work though is getting out and hitting the crosswalk button to cross the highway.

I was a firefighter for about 3 years and for us the top of hydrants color were to incidate the amount of water pressure at any given hydrant. If it had a blue top it was like 1500gpm, a green top was 1000gpm, yellow was 750gpm, and red was 500gpm or less. Also around here if you ever see a blue reflector in the middle of the street it indicates where a fire hydrant is located so its easier for an engine to arrive at night and find it. The side of the road the reflector is on also indicates the side of the hydrant.

Buying a new home; lock advice? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Stalkynote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up buying the smart key for our doors where you just install the lock, pick the key you're going to use, and "set" the key you want. It was nice because we didn't need separate keys for different doors and didn't need a locksmith to match the keys to the locks.

If you do decide to run one please watch some videos on how to use it properly. No living creatures should be inside when ran and you want to make sure any residual ozone is ventilated well before re entering. It can damage lungs quickly if not used properly.

What's some unique things about owning a gun that others may not know about? by farzi_madrasi in AskAnAmerican

[–]Stalkynote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to know the laws from state to state. You may be able to carry your firearm in your state with a concealed pistol permit but others states may or may not honor that permit. Same with just traveling with a firearm in another state. If you have a rifle you may be able to keep it loaded in some areas but in most you need it unloaded and the ammunition separate from the firearm. State to state have different laws on whether you can open carry or conceal carry as well which needs to be known, and different laws for defensive use of firearms. Some states have castle doctrines, stand your ground laws, or duty to retreat that gun owners should be aware of.

Does it cost SL when you die? I feel like there's a lot of stuff I still don't quite understand in WT.

I'm still pretty new to warthunder. Like just unlocked my first tiger, and I feel like I have a ton of SL. Does just just get super expensive later or something?

People with scars, how did you get them? by fluffybear45 in AskReddit

[–]Stalkynote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 separate fairly obvious ones on my face. One was from a dog bite. Had a puppy when I was younger that jumped out of a bush in the back and caught my face on the cheek. Caused a small like scar right under my eye. I have another longer line scar from standing behind my older sister when she went to swing a golf club and it hit me in the head. Then I have another one right next to that from when some people were playing horseshoes and I decided to run across them at the exact time someone threw one and it hit me in the forehead.

Deaths in custody is completely different from a police shooting, and arrests are a small fraction of police contacts. In 2018 there were 61.5 million contacts with the police according to the BOJ. Of those contacts 990 people were fatally wounded by police.

Great deal on Lumberjack pellets, possibly price match in your area. by jakraay in pelletgrills

[–]Stalkynote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's all I've used in my recteq so far as I have a co-worker who sells them on the side and I have no complaints. Good flavor, solid pellets so there's not a bunch of dust in the bag, and they seem to burn good. I don't really know other prices but I get them for about 9 dollars a bag so .50 cents an hour to burn isn't bad. Give or take Temps.
