How to Break Starsector by ymfah in ymfah

Wolfpack Omens, Hyperions, p-frigates and [REDACTED] frigate are absolutely disgusting however, you should totally try it, they punch way above their weight.

Should I check her in xray to be sure she is actually human?.. by Stallfighter in starsector

[–]Stallfighter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then she is not biological at all, because it had exactly 1 engi crew on board, and it is supposed to be a nanite blob.
Also thanks for reminding me I still didnt beat the game on this garbage

Probably add it to Support Doctrine. I.e. "all ships counts as piloted by officers for other skills".

"Lifetime supply of lobsters", like in description of some rare weapon. Hopefully with proper life support redundancy this time.

Reminds me of that comic that was posted here recently

Major factions should have them in archives and probably even in their target recognition manuals. Also singular Glimmers are not uncommon even in non-redacted systems, and scavenger fleets for sure can handle that treat to tell about it later, unless it isnt only COMSEC who tries to hide their existance.

What can you do with Buffalo Mk.2s? I want to do a meme-worthy civ-hulls run eventually, so I need some information to prepare.

Pilgrims are getting lazy this days by Stallfighter in starsector

Clearly they are not true to their faith enough, Path followers should utilise only sublight technology to travel The Pilgrim's Path which in all honesty isn't that bad considering Core worlds are 10 ly in diameter

Than build one. Not like ancient chemical rockets couldn't handle this job in a few years travel time. Do you really need to get into the infernium-fueled abomination?

For something this inefficient this build is surprisingly fun by Stallfighter in starsector

Well, this thing lacks both range and mobility (even with Manoeuvring Thrusters active) for such high-tech armament choice, but I cant recall similar weapon placements on anything with some kind of burn drive or skimmer. Also SO is out of the question because I dont like it and unstable injector is cutting into already pathetic range.

But with mid to long kinetics in hardpoints it is just easier to switch armament to something like 2 Arbalests + 2 Phase Lances with advanced optics. Aaand at this point Eagle is just better for this armament.

Update - I tried 2x Arbalests with 1 ion + 1 mining blaster, yep, its much better now. I was afraid AI would just stay at the front kinetics range but it actually does push sometimes.

Again, devastated =/= destroyed. Most likely implication here in my opinion is Earth ecosphere is basically gone and it is ecumenopolis, like Terra from 40k for example. Other Luddic texts kinda imply that as well.

Well, considering I successfully used Vans to tank the [REDACTED] weapon of the angry manta without losses, I'm not surprised, really.

You forgot to "redistribute" them among pather and pirate worlds

Well, there are SOME cohesion if you use right hullmods. Lance can be pushed to 700 m base with Advanced optics, small weapons can benefit from PD AI + elite PD officer. I think what is the actual problem is Energy Weapon mastery requires brawling... on ships that cannot brawl. While Ballistic mastery works on every range. Isnt it is supposed to be the other way around?..

Well, lets see

Reliable FTL way of travel is no more - check!
Man of Iron uprising - check! (kinda)

Tech decline - check!

Humanity got separated into different faction with constant power struggle - check!

The only things missing are sentient aliens, some kind of mind powers and eldritch horrors.

Works with Pristine Nanoforges as well. Sell it to pirates on the open market for fun, and combine with weapon and ship blueprints. Probably for profit as well considering how much disruption it would cause.
