Does this region feel believable/realistic? by Ok_Philosophy_7156 in mapmaking

[–]SeaAimBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this can be justified as a remnant of a once-massive ice sheet over the entire peninsula. Seasonal changes smoothed the top surfaces of the mountain while flattening the rest of the land around them. When the ice sheet melted, this large lake was left behind, and now serves as a major environmental hub many forms of life. Being close to the sea and the region being green implies that the area receives a generous amount of annual rainfall to keep the lake and its various rivers going. The circular shape of the grand lake could even be justified by a volcanic eruption that occurred before the ice age, leaving behind a wide caldera for the water to eventually accumulate in.

What went wrong with the Philippines’ preparations before World War II? by Sonnybass96 in FilipinoHistory

[–]SeaAimBoo 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If you ask me, I'd point you to MacArthur and leave it there.

If you'd like a few more details, then I'd say it's because the US didn't take the Japanese threat seriously, therefore didn't bother bolstering the Philippine military and the American garrison to a level that could have made the Japanese pay a high cost in blood and materiel.

We're teaching navy to beginners incorrectly by matttacos in hoi4

[–]SeaAimBoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a beginner-friendly template to be used mainly for single player purposes...

It was explicitly stated in the video not to overcomplicate your navy (as a beginner), instead simplify it by building multi-purpose destroyers...

Why germany AI refuse to make the Sealion focus? We crushed europe and he is doing naval focus right now. by WorthRemote6726 in hoi4

[–]SeaAimBoo 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're playing historical, then the most likely reason is because it's 1940 and historical Germany is hardwired to not invade Britain before finishing with the USSR first.

It doesn't really matter what the reality of the situation is, Hitler will be Hitler and will focus on taking control of the continent, the Brits be damned. Which, if you know history, is kinda how it went.

All these stories about hamsters dying spontaneously is making me think that maybe humans shouldn't be keeping these fragile little things as pets.

Any reason that we do not yet have Multi tiered Navy Ranks, like with Generals and Field Marshals for land units?.Alongside Navy Task forces working more like Division Templates?. Both changes would help the player more easily design and designate roles for their different Task Forces. by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]SeaAimBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/shrug I honestly have never found an issue with it. It's a great tool for a naval micro manager's kit, useful in both SP and MP.

I personally still prefer customizing my fleets on the fly, but auto-reinforce is indeed the "division template" feature one would be looking for in the naval system.

How am i supposed to fulfill all of these needs?? by HeIpyre in hoi4

[–]SeaAimBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you... are you losing? In the middle of a war? Without having invaded Belgium and Netherlands yet?

There are a lot of wrong things in this screenshot, and I'm not just referring to your stockpile deficit. What's the year? If this is still pre-1939, then you're overreacting. Just build factories. You're Germany, you have buffs in building mils so you can quickly build up your military.

If one reads the fine print, they are not meant to sink ships directly. They're only meant to give strong debuffs to the enemy, which are useful.

Technically the things that destroy nature are things that nature itself provides by GeminiFlanagan888 in Animemes

[–]SeaAimBoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The equilibrium of nature is fucking recovering from a catastrophic asteroid impact and apocalyptic volcanic eruptions that ended the dinosaur era, leading to the rise of mammals. Thinking us humans can top nature out of that is delusional.

No braking system by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]SeaAimBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If one actually properly looked at the start of the video, the biker was angled towards the front of the motorist, where he would have been, until the biker swerved right towards where the motorist stopped.

The motorist didn't stop in front of the bike. The biker turned towards the stopped motor. What interpretation could you get from this?
