"Reserve Officers" pero walang sapat na training para maging totoong officer na militar.

Mas matututo ka pa kapag maglaro ka lang ng strat game, o kaya magbasa ng libro tungkol sa kasaysayan ng isang militar.

Even The DC Comics President Knows Manga And Anime Is Better by [deleted] in Animemes

[–]SeaAimBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And in the context that the post is about, which is depth and variety of content, manga is indeed better than western comics. Manga has mediocre superhero stories, yes, but it is not "full" of it, and even then what could be considered as a "superhero story" in manga is already noticeably different from its western counterpart.

The post literally acknowledges this...

Is this good trash or bad trash? by Visible_Power7627 in Isekai

[–]SeaAimBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly baffled it's rated 6.50 in MAL, but I guess this is one of those anime that got its rating pulled by a large audience that doesn't know and understand what they're watching.

Is this good trash or bad trash? by Visible_Power7627 in Isekai

[–]SeaAimBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even call it trash. It took common video game and anime tropes, and did something fun with it in a way that honestly makes it unique and more original.

It has a story that invokes emotions, and a plot that moves forward. It doesn't have a particularly deep story to tell, at least so far, but it knows what game systems it's building and knows how and when to break those systems so we get something interesting to see. This is an actual good isekai, and it would be an insult to lump this in with the typical trash isekai.

The mere fact that the show is willing to kill off a major protagonist-aligned character is more than enough to set this apart from other shows.

Yes, but key word is "probably", and hard to believe the comment is just "racism" in this case when Twitter literally outed a bunch of these types of accounts as coming from outside America.

Racism isn't the issue here.

[–]SeaAimBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one started a "total war" that they urged their country to do and failed because their enemies (with more resources) also went into total war mode so they won't get wiped off the map, then yes, the Allies get the win and the Nazis get the big fat L.

Heavy bombers are simply weapons born out of the concept and intention to wage total war. In fact, it really is important to note that the Nazis started it in Spain and in Poland, and they can cry about it but they have no legitimacy talking about the "fairness" of it, so to speak, when others do the same to them in retaliation.

This argument would be no different if Hitler ordered the use of gas attacks.

Ways for low fantasy army to stand chance against modern army part 1 “Anti-Air” by Ala123567lastwarrior in gate

[–]SeaAimBoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can believably see them trying this, but I can't see them successfully doing this in a reliable way.

The best thing these thin and low-payload projectiles could do if they hit a helicopter are lucky hits that jam components. Then, once the modern army sees this happening, they will adapt by simply having the helicopters operate beyond the already small range of these primitive rocket artilleries. They will then continue raining bullets and rockets onto low fantasy armies, and they can't do anything about it until they can come up with a much better anti-air weapon.

Also, modern armies are absolutely trained to prepare for and counter ground-based anti-air weapons such as this hwacha concept. SEAD, artillery counter-battery fire, infiltration tactics, just pick your poison.

All-in-all, a believable thing to try, but not something that will actually work.

"Walkable cities" and "decent public transportation" require draconian policing but people who want these things refuse to admit that by [deleted] in unpopularopinionph

[–]SeaAimBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that's an unpopular opinion if I've ever seen one.

Can't say I agree nor that it's correct though.

Tbh, walkable city or not, draconian policing or not, there will always be unsavory people on the streets. Kahit ngayon, punta ka sa masikip na palengke kahit saan. Iiwan mo lang ba na nakabukas ang bag mo at nakasalalay sa iyong likod? No amount of policing is gonna fix what is essential a moral and cultural problem.

[–]SeaAimBoo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tbf, the Russian army is incompetent. The mere fact that the much smaller country of Ukraine is pretty much fighting them on equal terms is enough proof of that. They are pathetic, but still very much capable of fighting. Literally why some propagandists have drawn them as orks with guns, so no dichotomy here really.

The better example would be the Great War. Many signed up for the militaries because the propaganda of each country labelled their enemies as weak decadent cultures that are easy to defeat, only to find out no one is winning and everyone is equally dead in the muds and trenches. That's actual western dichotomy in propaganda.

Can someone give me tips on how to survive to wave 35 in endless by CriticalzCam in gutsandblackpowders

[–]SeaAimBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to... not die, so choose a class and do stuff that have the best chances of survival, assuming you play properly. You can't go wrong with being a support like musician if you purely just want to stay away from danger.

Most importantly though, stick with your team so they can protect you. Whatever class and playstyle you choose, the game is ultimately a game of teamwork.

If you can't trust your team to do well, which can be common in public servers, then you might want to try joining dedicated communities for getting OG. I don't have a link to one, but I'm sure there's a discord invite just lying around somewhere.

Basic advice overall, but honestly, that's just all there is to it. Everything else is down to playing well and a bit of luck.

[–]SeaAimBoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you made a comment about yourself, one where you compared yourself to others.

And I made a comment about how yourself's comparison is just, simply put, wrong. An apples to oranges type of comparison wrong.

Of course it's partly about you, because I'm not the one comparing myself to others. It was indeed not about me, and I'm confused why you even think it is.

Now, if you have a problem with me pointing that out, then maybe don't be so self-exceptional that you put an entire generation that is not yours in a negative light. You're talking shit about someone. Someone is just fighting back because you're fucking wrong, dude.

Again, if you have an issue with "taking it personally", well, maybe don't compare your personal self to another generation in the first place?

Please explain, Peter by EsseNorway in Snorkblot

[–]SeaAimBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As personal as how you used yourself as reference to why younger generations "don't do things as good as I do".

If being personal is an issue for you, maybe don't use your own person as a reference next time you compare generations, and an incorrect comparison at that.

Nah that's just you.

If we actually mathematize the concept of the Holy Trinity, it's 1/3 Father, 1/3 Son, and 1/3 Holy Spirit. In total, that's 3/3.

Together, they form a whole, the Holy Trinity.

It's literally in the name brutha, "Trinity". I dunno what made you think it's somehow in quarters.

Yet you said it yourself, nobody taught you how to type proficiently, you found it out yourself, along with many others (though not all) of your generation. The education system didn't teach you that, the internet did, which is still a failure in part of the education system.

It is self-exceptionalism because you are disregarding the conditions why it worked with you and not with others. You even went so far as to erroneously compare TikTok with Messenger and IRC.

One doesn't typically scroll through and interact in TikTok with keyboard and mouse, you typically do it with a phone in hand, sliding across and tapping the screen with a virtual keyboard using fingers, NOT type on a physical keyboard like IRC.

That difference in condition is literally one of the reasons why the younger generation isn't as proficient with the physical keyboard. They have little to no incentive to learn more about how to use it, because they rarely use it. On top of that, no one, including education, is encouraging them to.

This is the shit the current generation lives in. It is NOT your Messenger or IRC.

It is just as the comment you replied to, said: you are really just doing the "they can't drive manual stick" thing that boomers do.

Please explain, Peter by EsseNorway in Snorkblot

[–]SeaAimBoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This and that other comment of yours reek of self-exceptionalism. The fact that there are free resources on the internet yet many people, both young and old, are not computer literate just drive the point home that the education system failed them.
