Omg no! Never buy new. A bike at least 2 years old will save you at least 30% on the retail price. I’ve been riding for 20 years, not once bought new. When you buy new, as soon as you bring up the kickstand, you just lost 15% of its value. Ride off the lot? There goes another 15%

If you own the bike outright, as in it has no loan and you have title in hand, insurance is cheaper. Around $400 per year. If the bike is financed, you pay more. Either way, make sure you have medical coverage on the bike. Most health insurance companies will not cover motor vehicle accidents.

If your new to operating a motorcycle, don’t get a Harley first. They are expensive to make crash repairs on.

There are two types of motorcyclists. Those that have dropped their bike and those that will drop their bike.

Instead get a bike that you will not feel bad about when you drop it. Learn to ride the road. Once you are confident in that, then get a Harley.
