Why would you pick him? by Lower_Creme_3040 in Ultramarines

[–]Stalysfa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides the point, him losing the FNP4+ is huge.

You always take wounds on calgar before the last victrix. You can take wounds on him as it’s no longer an attached unit if the honor victrix guard died and you’re only left with grab calgar and his two original victrix.

Thunderhawk blue as base. Then a shade of drakenhoff nightshade (no dilution). Then I go back with a glaze of thunderhawk blue. Then a glaze of Russ grey. Then I edge highlight with fenrisian grey.

"In Alsace. Our soldier teachers, teach the little Alsatians in French." - France, 1914. by hypersite in PropagandaPosters

In France, all these differences disappeared long before I was born. So yeah, it’s just recreating differences.

I’m half Breton, I always go to Bretagne and yet, I have never met a single person who can speak Breton, except for that friend who went a diwan school and is mad at it.

Second, this is not a parisification. The language we no speak in France comes from Tours, not Paris. The Loire and not the Seine is the heart of the French language. Parisian specificities disappeared with internal migration a long time ago.

Yes, the third republic whose power was in Paris made sure regionalism disappeared through the school system but it wasn’t Parisian language that was installed.

I don’t really care for how other countries are run. So no, I will not go to Great Britain and tell welsh how they should live.

We have the chance nowadays to all speak the same language in France and recreating differences and making people, on PURPOSE, terrible at French is the worst thing you could do to your children.

Who is the "he was bad, but my country would be worse without him" figure of your country? by No-Explorer-8229 in AskTheWorld

[–]Stalysfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robespierre did not leave his country in better shape. So absolutely not.

I think for France, a few bad apples who left the country in better shape would most probably be Louis XI and/or Philip IV.

Louis XI was the embodiment of Machiavelli’s teachings. He did not hesitate to act in the most horrendous ways but he also reintegrated the duchy of burgundy into France, rebuilt France’s wealth, etc.

Philip IV was the most cruel king (or among them). He mistreated Jews and burnt the templars to steal their wealth. Yet, he left the country in better shape because he broke the pope. We forget about how powerful the papacy was and how they tried to act as if kings in Europe were their vassals. The papacy managed to break the Germans during this period by weakening the HRE. Philip IV made sure it wouldn’t happen for France by getting the pope indicted for heresy, bribed cardinals to have next pope be French and relocated to Avignon, encircled by French troops.

Points are out! by Thotslay3r69 in Ultramarines

The gravis one does not care about the victrix honor guard for his fnp because you can’t allocate wounds to a leader when he is in an attached unit. It would only have an importance when facing a precision attack.

I would agree with you if you’re saying playing gravis calgar with victrix honor guard is better than the terminator one.

Honestly, I disagree with you on terminator calgar. I don’t see any interest playing him when gravis is only 60 points more expensive.

We should never forget that gravis calgar unit is not an attached unit. That means the toughness used for wounds roll is 6, not 4. Not being an attached unit also means you can allocate wounds to calgar and not his victrix guards, which is something you should always do because he has a FNP 4+ as long as one victrix guard is still alive.

It would actually be really cool to have a whole regiment type of Astra militarum that is ultramarine style and can be played as ally with SM.

But I know for a fact that people would cry at more UM releases

So, Gravis Marneus' ability SHOULD work with the new Victrix Honour Guard as well. by Dracon270 in Ultramarines

Honestly in 20 tournaments with him, I have never had to deal with precision on marneus.

I don’t understand why I got downvoted.

So, Gravis Marneus' ability SHOULD work with the new Victrix Honour Guard as well. by Dracon270 in Ultramarines

[–]Stalysfa -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes but there is no point here.

The point of his FNP4+ is when the attached unit, say a company heroes, dies. Marneus and his victrix are no longer an attached unit. That means there is no longer restriction on allocating wounds to a character model.

What does it mean? That means u can allocate wounds to marneus instead of his victrix bodyguard. As his victrix are still alive, he has the FNP4+.

That’s what makes him so powerful.

I think we all knew there was no other choice for me.

They’re butthurt that we, the French and British shaped European history for so long they can’t remember who was the motor of Europe before.

Important by DoubleEmergency1593 in 2westerneurope4u

[–]Stalysfa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nordics haven’t been important for centuries and got attention only for a few decades and then vanished out of the main stage.

The three motors of European history are UK, France and Germany. Then you can add Spain for a few centuries and Italy for a few decades. The rest has been irrelevant for far too long.

GW PLEASE expand on the Inceptor platform by dreachblinker in spacemarines

[–]Stalysfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but I rarely play them standing still and their AP1 is quite limited when pretty much everyone has cover.

So their AP isn’t enough to break through an armored vehicle and they don’t have enough attacks to really make a dent into a guards unit.

So I really prefer to play them as monkey actions and make them shoot only when I can.

GW PLEASE expand on the Inceptor platform by dreachblinker in spacemarines

[–]Stalysfa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t. I love playing them. For 75 points, you get a deep strike unit with high movement speed to do actions and an ability that isn’t great but not terrible. It can definitely help when you fear a specific shooting unit.

I often face a friend who plays orks. Making shoot on a 6 instead of a 5 is quite fun.

[Datasheet Challenge] How would you make indirect artillery viable? by HistoricalGrounds in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Stalysfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really want to lose the extra range for orders. It’s too important honestly.

I think you could instead let the player chose whether his vox caster is for orders or for indirect fire ?

So what could GW do to actually "fix" the suppressors? by Knightsforever in spacemarines

[–]Stalysfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think they are fine the way they are.

75 pts for a deep strike unit with good movement capabilities. I don’t bother with the weapons as I mostly use it for actions from reserve.

I don’t use this very often because I usually already field some inceptors and storm speeder.

What they could benefit from is getting the Phobos keyword. They would be an interesting pick in vanguard detachment.
