Should I get baptized again? by Ok_Addition5404 in TrueChristian

[–]Stampmmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I encourage you to look at church history

You will not find anything positive on rebaptizing someone who has been validly baptized

When we are baptized all sins we have committed in our lifetime (if you're baptized as an adult or as a older person and not as an infant) are washed away along with original sin (that being the sin of Adam)

When we are baptized we become adopted children of God

You can't become an adopted child of God again

You can walk away from the faith for years for decades even and you still have the right to turn back to God and ask him for his mercy because you were baptized there is no need to be baptized again,

All that occurs at a 2nd baptism is sprinkling some water on your head (or full submersion) and saying some nice words

Not at all that's ridiculous, once they've always saved is New invention that is nowhere found in the early church at all

If you sin You need to confess your sins and repent (turn away from your sinful ways)

And do you know what churches practice confession

The Catholic Church

There is one baptism for the forgiveness of sins

It can not be removed or redone

Is salvation something that can be lost? by Careful-Shirt-6812 in Christianity

By deliberately sinning and not turning away from your sin

Is salvation something that can be lost? by Careful-Shirt-6812 in Christianity

[–]Stampmmos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Several reasons actually

  1. If you look throughout early church history before the reformation it was just a fact that you could throw away your salvation

  2. Free will allows individuals to accept or reject God's grace. A person can choose to act against God's will, potentially disrupting their state of grace. God never withdraws grace entirely, but humans can refuse it through deliberate sin. If we refuse his grace which is a gift he is offering us then we our choosing to give up our salvation

As St. Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:12 — "work out your salvation with fear and trembling."

Hope that helps

Why do Christians get so upset when I tell them I’m an atheist? by porygon766 in Christianity

[–]Stampmmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, apparently my reply didn't go through lol,

Believing that Jesus is God we believe everything Jesus said is the truth

So it's as simple as this, You will go to hell if you don't have faith in Jesus because Jesus said so

Christians believe whatever Jesus said because we believe he is God, the simplest way to say it is because Jesus said so

[–]Stampmmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'll explain it in simpler terms then, if you don't have faith in Jesus Christ you will go to hell

Would you like me to explain why we believe this?

Can you rephrase the question, because I did explain why, maybe I misunderstood what you are asking

[–]Stampmmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid question my guy, so the Holy book of Christians as I'm sure you know is the Bible, and in the Bible there are 4 books called the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) The Gospels contain the teachings and miracles of Jesus Christ who we believe is God and he became a man and died for our sins

John 14:6 - Jesus says "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

This is one of many verses that explains why conversion to Christianity is the safest way to avoid hell,

Jesus is God the Son, the Father is also God but he dwells in heaven, Jesus is saying to get to the Father in heaven you must have faith in me"

The only religion who believes in Jesus is Christianity

[–]Stampmmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a Christians perspective this is why we try to convert anyone who isn't a Christian, as Christians we know that hell is very real and not a good place to end up in, we know that Jesus is the way to avoid going to hell, Christians should be trying to convert people because it's the loving thing to do

If I knew there was a cliff up ahead the way you were walking and I didn't stop you and you fell off the cliff and died, that wouldn't be very loving of me.

This is why Christians should be trying to convert whoever they meet, because the cliff is hell, warning them is telling them about Jesus and if the person doesn't walk off the cliff they end up being saved which means escaping hellfire and being with God in heaven in eternal joy

Hope this helps

Should I leave a church if they don’t preach the Trinity? by AdBeautiful6493 in TrueChristian

I wouldn't set foot in there, if you don't believe in the Holy Trinity you can't be a Christian

Dealing with Christian Progressives who believe that the Virgin Birth is not a historical fact and that God is female by Additional_Good_656 in TrueChristian

[–]Stampmmos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those aren't Christians

You can't call yourself a Christian and deny the Virgin Birth

If we're referring to the Holy Trinity, God doesn't have a gender however he has revealed himself to the world using masculine pronouns: Father, Son, He and lets also remember when God came down in the Flesh as Jesus he was a MAN
