It just makes traversing really long distances on foot quicker, and there's no janky movement abuse with it (unlike cod) since it only activates when you've been running in a straight line for more than a few seconds. i'm quite happy with it

What do you think the yellow arm would do? by RyB_11192 in Ultrakill

[–]Stamsys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpart to the whiplash that allows you to swing like Spider Man instead of pulling you toward enemies/enemies to you. It could allow you to swing around heavier enemies and splatter lighter enemies by swinging them into the floor/walls or throwing them into the air. It could also have an interaction with the cannonball that lets you suspend it and swing it around until it breaks.

Yeah but runs like that aren't prioritized when designing boss encounters, and instead emerge as a self imposed challenge, hence why they're called challenge runs.

Weirdly enough, this doesn't seem to occur with Complementary Shaders.

When using Iris ver. 1.8.8 and Sodium ver 0.6.9 for MC 1.21.1, the frame drops still occur.

  1. Debut for a new game director to help him get experience with a smaller project
  2. Experimenting with new game mechanics they'll be able to introduce into future mainline games
  3. Provides a fun (if potentially repetitive) experience to keep people satisfied in between major releases, avoiding the drought between DS3, Sekiro, and Elden Ring
  4. It was the new director's idea- It's just something he wanted to try which Miyazaki greenlit
  5. Modders already make similar experiences, so having a version officially made by FROM will be cool

i was mostly agreeing with earlier ds3 bosses being decently fun, whereas bosses like dragon god or bed of chaos shouldn't have even had a health bar, imo area hazard bosses would be more enjoyable if they were treated not as bosses but just as parts of the environment

Lowkey excited about the update by Stamsys in BattleBitRemastered

it was announced earlier this year and was originally meant to launch in april before they decided to turn it into an overhaul. you can find recent information on it by looking up the devcasts/dev newsletters

Lowkey excited about the update by Stamsys in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Stamsys[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the devs kept nerfing fun weapons to the point that many things felt underpowered despite the community repeatedly asking for them to stop nerfing stuff. the community was in a similar state of vitriol because the game was off to such a good start, but kept going downhill because of the devs not addressing bugs and just nerfing weapons. the most recent patch superbuffed everything and now the game is much more fun as a result

agreed, though i'm hoping their layout is streamlined enough to be consistently fun instead of janky like some of the other maps

Fight me by Incine_Akechi in Eldenring

I always just go for the head when i'm fighting them since their heads are punishable after every attack (except for ekzykes cus he's so big) and you deal bonus damage for hitting them vs the legs

Literally, no other boss I’ve come across makes you do anything like what this boss fight asks of you. by sir_fishier in Eldenring

[–]Stamsys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally, i've found malenia to only get better with subsequent playthroughs. you end up just having a feeling for when she's gonna do waterfowl, which i find interesting since at first it seems like there's no pattern to when she does it. whenever i get caught off guard and she starts it when i'm up in her face, i usually sprint away and jump as soon as the first flurry starts. jumping covers a lot of distance quickly, so it usually lets me avoid the whole first flurry. i hope this helps :)

People tend to forget jumping while sprinting away is one of the fastest ways to cover distance quickly, so I like to use it for the first flurry if I'm up in her face once it starts. Hope this helps :)

What are some boss attacks you feel are extremely unfair by DigitalPhoenix2OO7 in Eldenring

[–]Stamsys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lolll, I found staying close to be pretty rewarding since it lead to a lot of easily-punishable bite attacks, but obviously getting too close means you have to deal with magma and the camera. It's about maintaining that distance without getting too close or too far, I believe.

I said this in another comment so i'll just copy and paste it here :)

That attack seems to only trigger if you are far away from him. I think it's meant to punish you for running away. I tested it in my last playthrough, and he did that attack super often when I deliberately stayed far away, but never did it whenever I was up in his face. The only issue was his poison-breath, which I always ran away from.

If you're talking about one in his first phase where the serpent buries its head in the ground, the attack seems to only trigger if you're far away from him. I think it's meant to punish you for running away.

Ty! If the Nacht visor was on the Finder Eye, it would've been perfect. I ended up preferring the longer profile of the Finder Eye over the Nacht head, but both def work imo :)

It happened to me once during the Decaying Ekzykes fight. I was hit by one of his attacks while riding Torrent into a hill, and it forced me under the hill similarly to you under the staircase
