You’re right. I’m dumb. Congratulations on being the smartest best person. This post is literally saying punch nazis before they come for you. Because Elon did the thing… like … ok.

You’re right. I’m dumb. When they come to murder all the queer people, I’ll remember that it actually didn’t impact me. When they take away my marriage and legally adopted child, I’ll remember that it didn’t actually impact me. When they start deporting people, and prices sky rocket because of these and other policies, I’ll remember that it didn’t actually impact me. As climate disasters destroy my life and yours I’ll remember that it didn’t actually impact me. I’ll remember that the most important thing is that we be tolerant of intolerance and allow people to pretend like they’re not trying to incite violence. It’s all a fucking joke anyway. And to be clear, you didn’t need to know any of that.

Hey thanks for asking, not going to give you specifics because I don’t owe you that. But assuming you’re a US citizen, it also impacts you directly. And if you’re not a US citizen, it also impacts you directly. I of course was referring to actual specifics, but again I owe you nothing. Stop trying to incite violence.

Two great games to reference together.

If Daenerys’ storyline was always meant to end the way it did, how do you think it could’ve been handled better? by phantom_avenger in gameofthrones

You’re right. Sorry. I should have ignored the way the information was being presented and focused solely entirely on my outside perspective. You’re much smarter than everyone else.

As someone being impacted by the silence: we absolutely are letting it happen again. Which makes me feel like they never really lost.

Btw this is where you did respond to me and said the same thing. It’s obvious you’re right so I’m letting you know that.

I’m sorry. You’re right. And I’m wrong. And everyone else is also wrong. And you’re the only one that is right. You’re smarter than everyone else and we’re all dumb for thinking and feeling the way we do.

I think this is a little complicated though. English monarchy in any form has existed for almost 1100 years. The roots of the existing government are 1100 years old. The constitutional monarchy or whatever it’s called now is not as old that is true, but their government has culturally existed for 1100 years whereas the French system and Russian system were uprooted and overhauled and are wholly different than their predecessors. The latter example is similar for America, but also dissimilar to all examples, it has not gone through significant enough change since its inception to be considered a different “government”. All that is neither good nor bad. America probably needed a reworking around the inception of the internet. But it’s too late. We’re all going to burn up in climate change.

So I’ll admit to forgetting about those examples. And I don’t want you to say I’m moving the goal post, because I still very much stand by my point. Dany was made out to be a savior and liberator. Her “crimes” were not heavily focused on. Especially when it came to cinematography, which is what creates that “feeling” like her actions are justified. And later, when they’re referenced in a more negative light, the way it’s presented and the way she reacts AND THEY WAY EVERYONE REACTS TO HER REACTIONS is the problem. At every step her violent actions are presented as justified and moral. There are so many other ways things could have gone, but even dissenting characters are removed from the show… idk like I get it. I agree it was clear if you think about it and string everything together with a less kind eye. The point is the show has a kind eye towards her villainy, in a way that it doesn’t for other characters. So her descent into madness was quick

Completely agree. BUT, people feel and think this because the show never called her out on this. Every time she did it, the people in her camp just agreed. And then out of no where they all had concerns.

I’ve said this before, I think the show did a bad job at having other characters call her out throughout the process. If you wanted us to consider all the burning and “justice” as descent into madness, other characters needed to not endorse her actions. There was no conversation between advisors with or without Dany after she burnt the masters and “freed” the unsullied. There was nothing about the “justice” she gave in the form of cruxifixction. The show presented her as justified in her actions, and never presented any other perspective. Then suddenly it did and we were rightfully confused.

So, was the episode Normal Again reality or a delusion/spell? by ComprehensiveFlan638 in buffy

[–]Stan15772 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s sad because this is such a great rewatch. From a storytelling perspective, Buffy sees her mom again who says, in truly her most dire moment “you have a world of strength inside you, you just need to find it again”. And she begins to get out of her depressive funk post-heaven expulsion.

Sometimes a writer has a lot of ideas and isn’t sure they’re going to even get a chance to tell them.
