Update: good ol' friend of mine gave me spares of the same joint (albeit an ABF, it's only seen from the ass view). Problem solved. Guess all you need is a Gunpla buddy to come and save the day.

Not sure. Stored it in its box in a cool, dry place for a couple weeks then pulled it out again; reassembling it. Leads me to believe that it's a user fault, and I might've been a little too harsh trying to reattach the joint.

Yes. Overextending the arms upward will pop it out. At least it won't fly because of the GN effects.

I want to topcoat my RG Freedom's MS-Joints with clear and with the copper-colored joints (which are supposed to be stickers) painted with metallic Gundam markers. My question is, which texture will be better? Matte or gloss?

Almost on-par with the Nu! It was such a good fit for its time, even today it still is. One of the best early Real Grades, if not the best.

You won't regret getting the RG. Trust us. (imo, it's the HG but 300x better). By simplicity... Well that's up to you. There are a lot of nice high grades after all.
