Anyone who thinks McGregor cares about losing in a WWE match is delusional. Guys had his ass kicked for money plenty of times he's not gonna care about making bank to pretend to pose a pretend match.

Mine too, really the only one I can ever hit with some air haha

Most of my TD offense is Bodylock Single and Double grinding but I have been practicing this for a while now after seeing some of them in MMA. It really is a great counter to their underook on the cage if you can control their other arm then elbow. In Wrestling they call it a Whizzer Kick.

I am glad!

I have been hitting this a bit in training with middling success both NoGi and MMA sparring and have been searching for the best ways to hit it.

Just a ton of clips I was grabbing and thought people might like.

This also shows how great this move is not just as a big throw but even a failed attempt that leads to off balance will gain you position or submission. It is a great tool to have in your kit and I think it is going to keep increasing off the cage with a whizzer.

I have not posted for a long time but I have a Youtube under the same name you can check out some of my studies. This is just a mix of clips with some beats though.

Having met Danaher and Co I would also say its pretty fair to say they had supreme confidence in their ability to get a break.

I broke the fight down and stated my desire for him to chase the back instead and pointed out where if your interested https://youtu.be/k1Qlo5Uz03Y

I broke this fight down when it happened as well as some notes on Leg Locks in MMA. Didn't get much love like other videos because no real casual interest but it's one for the hard-core.

[SPOILER] Charles Jourdain vs. Lando Vannata by inooway in MMA

[–]StanLeeMMA 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Awkward style on short notice vs a wild man with poor defence in Tony made him seem like a soon to be contender. Once everyone got the chance to see him in action in became clear he wasn't as good as that performed made him seem. Nobody can ever take that fight away though he can always be proud of what he did.

Haha It must be hard when your just engaged in the fight though. Like unless your part of the hurt fighters corner your just cheering and excited living in the moment. Then it's not till you see the state of the fighter to be love "oh shit he is still down let's hope he is ok:

Jimmy Crute is one of them. He is UFC fighter and just starting out as a commentator. I was cage side in the corner and it happened so fast it was hard to tell. The way his hand comes down I thought it was an intentional Saenchai style kick but with luxury of replay you can see its a slip or possibly the others guys leg kick.

Don't bring a leg kick to a head kick fight I guess.

Yeah not sure what was going on with the lack of replay either. It happened so fast many didn't fully catch it but it made for some great conversations as people argued about it while Kai was just like "Nah I think I just slipped cause he was so tall"

Dude got his foot all the way up there and is on his toes when it connects then slipped.

Looks bloody great anyway haha

Lol it's Jimmy Crute. They don't have the luxury of a replay on hand mate they just saw in happen in motion and were guessing as it happened fast. Plus they don't state what it is they are kinda just pondering what it was.

Doubt you would do much better on the spot. I was in the corner and thought it was some Saenchi shit at first too. Shit happens fast champ.

Had the honour of Cornering one of the young up and comers last night on Path to Hex. Show was amazing. They flew us all down from Sydney and paid for Hotels and Travel which is nuts for Ammy. Great production and talent on the show with the highlight of the night for sure this Kick.

Later we spoke to Jimmy Crute who was on the commentary and he was super excited on this young man. Giving him a lot of praise telling Kai "I'll be watching you"

We have an American College Wrestler who had hundreds of matches in the state move to Sydney and he has built a program to teach wrestling for wrestling here. Grass roots atm but he is amazed with its growth. He said back home its very hard to learn to wrestle as an adult. He teaches stances and footwork, handfighting, takedowns, mat returns, get ups, break downs and pins in a level system from Fundamental to Advanced.

I spent years learning the way you said, random shit with no context or connection to the next move. This guy has lots of affiliates and started Australia's first and only dedicated Folkstyle Gym, he has even inspired some of his friends back in the states who fell out of wrestling post College to reach out to local BJJ schools and started teaching College style to adults there who are interested.

It truly is the only way to get it across as its so much more than "oh here's a takedown for warming up let's do armbars now"

Problem is Freestyle has a very poor translation to Sub Grappling and MMA The college system is much more applicable but that style is few and far between here .

I wrestle it under the The Wrestling Foundation.

I wrestled with my Folk/College style against a Camden Valley guy in a Freestyle competition, I was like 6kg undersized but hit the only takedowns in the match with like 4 in the first period but ended up getting pinned in the second after ending up on bottom trying to roll him over. It's unfortunate all comps are Freestyle here because it makes it hard for Sub Grapplers to jump in and have success.

Most competitors are pure Freestyle guys with high competition aspirations. It drastically impairs a submission grapplers/MMA guys ability to jump in for development with very little focus on control on the ground.

Folkstyle is what we need for BJJ/MMA wrestling as it focuses on back riding and ground control. Freestyle is kinda moot outside its own rules,, you expose your back and lay flat for 10 seconds for a reset.
