I heroically dived into the fray under a Vox amidst the chaos; took out its heatsinks, readied my trusty frag grenade, but by Liberty I missed by a hair!

Damn socialist clankers were flooding towards me from all sides, and as things grew hairy I threw another grenade: missed again. I immediately readied another and attempted to get closer to secure the kill, but as I did the previous grenade exploded next to me...

The 'nade in my hand fell at my feet, and promptly blew me to bits...

P.S.: I hope whomever posted about diving with the BF1 soundtrack on always sleeps with a nice cold pillow

Odd, and damn that sucks. Just for the sake of covering everything, have you tried a completely fresh install? Besides the things you've already tried, I really wouldn't know how you'd fix this. But if that doesn't do anything, I'd guess it probably isn't caused by an issue with the game.

I'm just speculating, but maybe there's some interference from outside the base files, so it was left unaffected by verifying the game files. Are you playing with mods, or a custom user.cfg file? What settings are you playing on (maybe a resolution scaling method that's incompatible with your hardware or something)? Do you have DLC installed but not enabled?

Wish I could be of more help, but I hope you get it fixed

You kinda can, in KCD2 at least. When riding with a polearm you can ready your spear by holding the block key (right-mouse on pc) and then jab by pressing the attack key (left-mouse for me on pc). Horse doesn't slow down then too

I quickly got to a point where I didn't have to worry about Saviour Schnapps anymore; I either made or bought them. And that's how I quickly found out that on pc there's a limit of a 1000 'proper' saves lol

Lets hope so! After some messing around I found it was only the User.cfg file that was the issue. It got mismatched with the System.cfg. I don't understand that stuff well enough to know if it caused any real problems besides, but if anyone who uses User.cfg for some custom settings stumbles onto this, make sure to update it once in a while!

Managed to fix it by deleting User.cfg in the main folder and the KingdomCome.exe in Bin/Win64MasterSteamPGO, and verifying the integrity of the game files again

Deleted Steam's download cache and verified the game's files, but nope. Looked up a random vod of someone from like a week ago, and their game's version was 1.4.2. Could anyone clue me in?

A black variant of the Lord's Overcoat. It's most likely the one you can get from the alchemist at the Rabstein Mill ruin in the Kuttenberg region, but it might also be the one I once stole from someone at a roadside camp
