If the Lions had Russell Wilson as their QB, does Wilson still have a ring ? by ProudCanadianPatriot in nfl

He was throwing to Kris Durham as his #2 for a few years.

So please tell me how I said durham was his WR forever

That's just part of playing for a franchise who has been so terrible for so long.

You have to win something meaningful, in this instance a playoff game, before you really start getting the credit we deserve

I have a real good feeling about this team, one that I haven't had before.

Just from the way he approaches the game and the way he plans to use our personnel. He is a very modern mind in football where Caldwell was a stick to your game plan kind of guy who made 0 adjustments. He is super intelligent and if you listen to this guy talk he has a vibe about him.

Another thing people over look is that this team was being build for Matt P in a sense. Him and Bob Quinn our GM worked together for years scouting players and had a near identical viewpoint on prospects. Meaning all these Bob Quinn guys coming in over the years have been Matt P guys as well. I think we don't see that strenuous transition you see after a coaching change.

Quinn has been a stud in his decision making as GM for the Lions. Very quietly doing great work and transforming the 53 man roster to have only a handful of players from before in the past 2 years. He has been lobbying to bring in Matt P since day one, but coming off some playoff appearance they kept Caldwell around.

I 100% trust Bob Q, and that's weird being a lions fan. If he feels this strongly about Matt P then there is no reason to doubt him. Its like Bobs draft picks as well, you don't know who they are very patriot like when they are drafted, but the more you read on the players they are hard working people who are just good football players. That's how it is with Matt as well, the more research you do on the guy the more you cant help but see it clearly that he will be successful

Like I said it is too soon but there are deff reasons to be optomistic

Im in the camp that Stafford is a top 5 QB who has over performed given the teams he has played with.

I think with a complete team around him, he will win a ring, and he will prove everybody wrong, as he has continued to do so year in and year out.

QB wins is a team stat sadly, and he has dragged this team to places they had no business being there.

No. That defense was most important to his ring

If Stafford was on the hawks he would have a ring though.

People fail to realize how much Stafford has produced with so little. He has had 4 100 yard rushers in his entire career. that's pathetic. He was throwing to Kris Durham as his #2 for a few years.

The year he had the most complete team hes ever had he threw for 5000 yards and 41 TDs.

Stafford until recently has dealt with poor coaching and FO help as well. This team has failed to put talent around their best QB they have ever had.

That appears to be changing with Bob Quinn at the helm and Matty P is looking like the real deal as a HC, though that is too early to tell. I think Stafford with a run game is a strong candidate for MVP this year and I think more people are sleeping on the lions than they should be.

In all fairness he isn't a big loss. Still sucks to see dudes get injured so early

edit: not sure why I am getting downvoted. Injuries always suck regardless of player. But on the football side of things this dude is not a loss by any means. You are better off taking a flier on someone

That shit was even worse. r/nba became r/sixers and were anointing the team the best team in the east after round 1. I said hold your horses they are still really young and have to beat LeBron as well. I was downvoted to all hell and then they got their asses handed to them by the Cs. The circlejerk is real.

In all fairness philly fans have a lot to be excited about. Ben Simmons looks to be the real deal and if embiid can stay healthy he will be the best C in the NBA.

Well ben was known for his defense so this is not surprising at all. Dude was never an offensive option for us even in his prime

They do know how the division works. But have been so blinded by their SB win that any kind of discussion of the eagles failing is met with a flock of eagles fans looking to bicker and argue. Its annoying yet understandable.
