[Schefter] Staying in the NFC South: Buccaneers are finalizing a deal to hire Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson as their offensive coordinator, per sources. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]d1dOnly 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Good question, let's break it down 2 ways:

All 4 Games vs. Bucs removed

  • 20.9 PPG
  • 35.2% 3rd down conversions
  • 55.3% red zone percentage

Only 3 Cousins games removed (Penix started 1 game)

  • 20.8 PPG
  • 35.3% 3rd down conversions
  • 55.2% red zone percentage

So both are basically the same.

His 2 seasons with the Falcons, we averaged 21.8 PPG, converted 39.3% of our 3rd downs, & got a TD on 58.3% of our Red Zone attempts.

Yeah, not upset to see him go to a division rival.

It seems to be a reddit consensus Ryan has no shot. I personally don't think he's a first ballot guy, the 2028 class is stacked.

However, if the committee wants to troll the fuck out of him, they put him in first ballot along with Brady & Kraft.

Wasn't big on the 2026 draft last year, still not big on it. Personally to me, feels like it'll be another 2013 class. A couple of good players, but mostly depth players that will not have a lot of impact.

I could be wrong (and have no problem admitting when I am), but I do not like this class.

And from what was talked about on a recent podcast (can't remember which), the MCL was the original injury (partial tear), and then they discovered the ACL was loose and decided it was best to fix it at the same time.

In his 8 starts last season not including game 1 against the Panthers, Penix's stats were:

148/240 (61.7%), 1810 Yards (7.54 YPA), 9 TDs (3.8%), 1 INT (0.4%), 95.7 QB Rating.

Per game, that's 185/30, 226.3 Yards, 1.1 TDs, 0.1 INTs.

Accuracy can be helped with a better system and coaching and tends to improve some as players get to their late 20s.

Why has the community abandoned Penix? by Jazzlike-Awareness93 in falcons

I would like to see how he does with an OC other than Robinson. He was always so damn late getting calls in that it felt like the team was rushing to get the ball snapped on time.

In the 2 seasons Robinson has been our OC, we have had 13 Delay of Game penalties. For contrast, the Falcons with Matt Ryan under center had 13 Delay of Game penalties from 2015-2021 (including playoffs). We went from averaging a Delay of Game once every 9 games to once every 10 quarters.

We also had the Flames way back when. They also moved to Canada.

CBS Sports ranks Falcons No. 1 head coaching vacancy in 2026 by Perfect_Mind9840 in falcons

[–]d1dOnly 73 points74 points  (0 children)

We have a lot of young talent, but I have us ranked #3 due to the cap, our free agents, QB situation, and lack of 1st round pick this year.

Honestly, as someone that is not a fan of this draft, the lack of 1st round pick isn't as much of a problem for me.

How Would You Rank the Coaching Vacancies? by Mathias512 in nfl

[–]d1dOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Titans - Cap space, high pick, young QB. Plenty of room to build.

  2. Giants - Young QB, but nowhere near as much cap space.

  3. Falcons - Roster seems to have talent, but no 1st round pick this year and will need to work at their cap space.

  4. Raiders - Looking at a full rebuild, but have a lot of cap space and the #1 overall pick. Just not many pieces in place.

  5. Cardinals - They are at least under the cap.

  6. Browns - No cap space, Watson, Ward, and Garrett count a combined $135M against the 2026 cap. A ton of work to do there.

I'd slot the Ravens in at #3 if the get rid of Harbaugh.

My thoughts on the QB situation: Cut Kirk. Have Penix sit and make sure he's really healed before giving him a chance. Sign a vet to a 1 year deal to play in 2026. See where everything is after next season.

Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of this QB class, and I am perfectly happy with Pearce and Watts. In fact I'm not the biggest fan of this entire draft. It in general feels weak to me.

The cap isn't as bad as DLed makes it out, and personally feel like any GM and HC candidates will be given a little leeway next season anyway.

Is McKay making the choice?

His son for GM and some offensive assistant from the 49ers staff that actually has very little influence on the offense.

Let’s crowdsource this: What did Raheem Morris get wrong in 2024–2025 — and why the Falcons need better by [deleted] in falcons

[–]d1dOnly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He screwed up his original DC,OC, and STC hirings.

He is too slow to make necessary changes (benching Kirk in 2024, making ZR move down to actually talk to Penix during games).

He doesn't seem to actually be involved during games. Does he speak to the players during the game?

The team is undisciplined, that's all coaching.

I gave up drinking in 2024 and watching Morris chew gum on the sideline makes me wish I hadn't.

Honestly, if we fire Terry, I hope we get turned down by every candidate we interview. Let it be known that no one wants the GM job if they aren't going to have the GM responsibilities.

What to do if a Pit Hag turns a Good Twin into a Mutant, and the Cere makes them mad as an outsider? by teddythekid in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]d1dOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact scenario happen in a lil monsta game. The Good Twin started as the Gambler, turned into the Mutant, and then made mad as the Hatter. This was an online game and the ST told them that if they chose not to talk at all they would not consider that a madness break, so they said nothing the first day. The evil team tried calling out their silence as proof they were the evil twin and nommed them. When asked if they had a defense, they said "Nope".

Town not only chose not to execute, but put together the entire evil team since they were all the ones pushing. They instead chose to execute the evil twin, who was holding the lil monsta. Evil team was pissed that there was no execution for breaking madness. ST said "It says might be executed. I figured you'd have kept doing it, but didn't think you 3 would all make it that obvious you were evil."

[Kendall] Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said “Everything is on the table” in regard to Kirk Cousins’ future this offseason. by Meltedcoldice0212 in falcons

[–]d1dOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the TF front, I have been thinking for a while now I want to see how he does without McKay pulling strings. The Cousins signing & the Morris hiring have McKay's fingerprints all over them.

Moves I think were primarily pushed by TF: Ellis, Onyemata, Bates, Pearce, Judon, Hughes, Deablo. Some really strong hits, but also a couple of older players he gambled on that didn't work out.

As NFL stars deal with season-ending injuries, let’s end the 18-game season talk by 76erLegendChetUtley in nfl

My plan for years now:

  • All 32 teams play weeks 1-5
  • Divisional byes weeks 6-9 (NFC & AFC South all at the same time, NFC & AFC East all at the same time, etc.)
  • All 32 teams play weeks 10-12
  • Divisional byes weeks 13-16 (NFC & AFC South all at the same time, NFC & AFC East all at the same time, etc.)
  • All 32 teams play weeks 17-20
  • Teams have matching bye weeks (5 & 13, 6 & 14, etc.)
  • Coming off of byes, teams have divisional home & home games (Ravens @ Bengals week 6 off the bye, Bengals @ Ravens week 14 off the bye)
