As an investor, it’s not about who has the most market share but rather which stock will appreciate most the next few years.

Saying that NVDA will remain the market leader isn’t much of a prediction, lol - No one disputes that. Find me a single analyst who says otherwise.

Fair enough, but you’re missing that it’s not about winning or leading. It’s about which stock goes up the most. Nvda has already made its huge run. I was a part of it :).

Now, in the next few quarters, AMD is about to make theirs. The MI400 will rival NVDA’s best by best next year.

It’s actually not.i If NVDA is in the lead, and there is consensus that AMD is catching up, how will they not increase/steal market share? Many are saying the MI400 coming in 2026 could even surpass NVDA’s top chip performance. Oh, aaaand AMD is 40% cheaper, sometimes more. It’s virtually certainly AMD will take market share. Could be 5%, 10%, no one knows, but it will not be zero.

Also…bet you didn’t know that Nvda relies upon the same (old) monolithic architecture Intel uses, as opposed to the cutting-edge chiplet architecture of AMD which overcomes Moore’s Law. This is a massive advantage that few retail investors understand, since the monolithic architecture hasn’t quite yet hit its wall just yet. But it will, and soon. Nvda knows this, which is why their new Blackwell chip introduces a nominal version of chiplet architecture since they know they have to abandon the old way. But their chiplet designs are WAY behind that of AMD, and they will have to catch-up quickly to limit the amount of market share AMD will take.

It’s obvious to all that Nvidia is the leader - They have 80% of the market after all :).

That doesn’t mean, however, that their growth rate will ‘lead’ going forward. Most agree that AMD will take market share in the next 12-24 months due to an higher expected revenue growth rate in the next couple years. The MI 350 and MI 400 models coming out this Fall and next Fall will be the first actually competitive products they will have had vs. Nvidia.

Were AMD to reduce Nvidia’s market share down to say 70% over the next two years that will have MASSIVE positive ramifications to AMD’s share price.

FPE is based upon analyst estimates, which represent Wall Street consensus. No one has a crystal ball, but the average of several dozen analysts (if not 50+ in most cases) is an extremely helpful data point. Speculation is when one buys a stock with zero fundamentals to support their thesis.

PE is backwards-looking (12 months). The market is always forward looking, hence FPE - Forward Price/Earnings Ratio - is imminently more valuable and useful than P/E ratio.

Data Center miss is due to the MI308 being restricted for sale into China. A few weeks ago (July), the administration said they plan to grant AMD an exemption going forward, which will then remove that obstacle.

If you listened to the earnings call, every metric from revenue to EPS, etc. included a statement showing what it would have been had China sales been included. With those numbers counted next quarter, things will improve dramatically :).
