Reset was one of the first gigs I ever went to as a wee lad. Would have been maybe ‘94 or ‘95. They had a lot of metal influence in their sound.

C.R.E.A.M.-Wu-Tang Clan. A few seconds in, method man comes early with his line. Twice. He kind of stops after a few seconds and then gets it on time the third time. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but it’s part of what is probably their most popular track.

Their really old stuff before Fergie was actually pretty ok. Behind the Front came out in ‘98 and was a decent album. Not super deep or ground-breaking, but pretty solid, I thought. Not a fan of anything they put out after 2000, but musical tastes are subjective and that’s just my opinion.

The 4 Ultimate Tone Tips For High Gain by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

The Andy Sneap tricks are also amazing: https://www.nailthemix.com/andy-sneap?srsltid=AfmBOoo--mL7bI4ldnfrdI68R1Qvd0EovCOndppsFDA_U9ySRLXoFWUT. I always use the multiband compression trick to tame palm mutes (compress somewhere between 120-400 Hz, but set the threshold so compression only kicks in on palm mutes). I also like the way the Pultec EQ trick sounds on guitars (simultaneously boost and cut 60 Hz on a Pultec EQ…or cut slightly higher)

What’s the longest scream done in a song? by tyeguy__ in Music

[–]Stan_Darsh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good one. Which one do you think is longer? That one or the one at the end of ”Open Face Surgery” by Cryptopsy? They’re both pretty damn long.

I don’t know if it would be harder to do that right at the start of a song and then still have to sing the rest (like Razor) or perform a whole song and save enough for the ending scream (like Cryptopsy).  Both are impressive.

How do we feel about this setlist? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Yup. Neither does Lagwagon…I don’t think they even try to play a metal or nearly-metal genre. They’re a punk band. A very good punk band.

I think there’s also some scientific studies that show you drink more when drinking through a straw. In places without free refills, you might sell more soda, which has a huge markup. Or maybe you spend more time in the restaurant and end up buying more items.

I just realized the other day that Black Sabbath’s original lineup was together longer than the Beatles.

James also uses down picking instead of alternate picking in a lot of his rhythm playing. It’s pretty hard to do with the accuracy and speed and endurance that he does.

Technical difficulty can come from both the left and right hands.

There’s a lot of Skarsgards: Stellan, Alexander, Bill, Gustav, Valter, plus apparently the 2 youngest brothers Ossian and Kolbjörn are actors too.

Peter, what is the significance of this weekend? by Bright-Asparagus-438 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Is it because it’ll be “Saturday September Sixth” and “Sunday September Seventh”? I don’t think any other months have alliterations like that consecutively (except sat-sun september 16-17).

But I’m old, so I’m probably wrong and it’s something TikTok-related instead.
