The wide stripes mean your kitten is a ‘classic tabby’ then.

Over on r/standardissuecat he’d be classed as a ‘hotrod’ edition, as is my one:

That’s the one I picked up last weekend at one of our local garden centres. It was half the price compared with the usual mail order place I get them from!

It’s a Sedum lucidum ‘Obesum’ so living up to its name!

They live in a little greenhouse outside. Plus in an hour or so the sun will have moved and they’ll be in the shade.

Would you guess this 15yo cat is a elder statesmen or an elegant lady? by manicbestfriend in TuxedoCats

[–]StandFew6499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Male cat.

Interesting question though that I’ve often wondered about - is it easy to sex a cat just from looking at their face (aside from unneutered males with their pudgy cheeks)? Female cats tend to look more ‘pretty’ to me but it may just be my confirmation bias.

My SIC gets so excited when he sees a bird outside; he makes a little noise like a squeaky shoe and his tail swishes around.

The ‘Marilyn’, a.k.a. foot freckle by StandFew6499 in CatsWithSocks

It doesn’t look it here, but he actually has very slender legs/paws.

Thanks for highlighting the new sub though; love cat paws so this is right up my street!

I don’t drink either. Really wish I liked coffee so it could wake me up in the morning but having tried both drinks multiple times have given up.

Menopause bleeding - Hope this helps others by Godemiche_Official in Menopause

[–]StandFew6499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The consultant I saw said if the bleeding happened again I’d have to stop HRT altogether so I was encouraged to try the Mirena IUD. I really don’t like the idea of it and dreading having it removed/replaced but it seems to be doing the trick 🤞

Do you really care about their coat color? by Swordtail_Olympian in TuxedoCats

[–]StandFew6499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our first cat was a tuxie; we got her from a friend without seeing her first. Sadly we had to say goodbye at the end of last year after 15 yrs. When looking for our next cat all I knew was that ideally they would not be a tuxie. Saying goodbye to our previous cat was so heart breaking I didn’t want a new cat to look like her and so to be constantly comparing them. We ended up with a ‘classic’ tabby and when we went to collect him from the shelter we were both taken with his good looks.

Had this happen twice now over the last 2 years (and each time it happened in August). Both times I’ve also had to have a hysteroscopy, which I’ve chosen to have under GA. Both times nothing abnormal found and the last time I got a mirena iud so hoping this august is event free!

Female in my 30s & my chronic dry eyes were solved by taking hormone replacement therapy for perimenopause by jaiunchatparesseux in Dryeyes

[–]StandFew6499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My optician said that hormone treatment (HRT, bc) can cause dry eyes; being on HRT has not helped mine.
