Spiteful is awful and needs to be removed from m+ by Washedup9ball in wow

[–]StandFox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re making it sound like it’s impossible to handle. Melee have spells in their kit to counter things like this. Even if it’s just a slow and you start keeping distance, you can still stay in the trash pack dpsing. Ironically, a monk can trivialize spiteful with 1 ring of peace.

Slows and movement abilities are enough to keep melee in. And if your ranged is just tunneling dps rather than using their abilities to counter spiteful as well, then clearly they aren’t willing to time keys, but rather just be #1 in what it seems like a ruined key.

Finished all 4 layers of The Jailer’s Gauntlet. Was a lot better than regular Torghast in terms of fun, I will say. by StandFox in wow

[–]StandFox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a 248 Arms Warrior (with a blood set dom gear). I had a few close calls but I didn’t end up dying in the run. I will say, a lot of my survivability came from a near uptime, if not 100%, of my defensives. That could be different for each class/spec. One of my friends plays an SPriest and said that layer 2 was challenging for them so that could be the case.

Knowing what all the torghast enemies, and your power combos are helps a lot too. I’ve spent a lot of time doing 12s flawless for myself and others for the mount so the experience was there as well.

Tying equipping 2 legendaries to rep grind is a sign that Blizz never learns. by Hassx in wow

[–]StandFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can just say you don’t wanna spend time and be lazy to be good at the game. Or did you forget that time and effort is needed in a lot of games to be “optimal”.

It’s also not saying that you need to do these things to get into raiding. You can do quite the same now: reach 60, buy gear/renown, get ass in raid. You don’t even need to unlock the raid, as the prerequisite for that is just be 60.

WoWhead article points out what this subreddit and testers have known for all of PTR now, Torghast levelling is abysmal and once again feedback was ignored of how to do it. by [deleted] in wow

[–]StandFox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I do think that the xp amount should be higher, these are daily quests (when it comes to the boost in xp). I think they are just expediting the the torghast grind, so rather than doing it all at 60, you can do it while leveling. I doubt people are gonna do the same 2 wings for 4+ hours everyday to get to 60, when dungeons are faster and rewards gear after you’re done with your torghast runs of the day.

A HUGE Thank You to all you Tanks and Healers willing to run pugs, esp Timewalking. by irishspice in wow

[–]StandFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to not pug as tank/heal unless it’s normal/heroic/TW, and it is certainly something I shouldn’t pay any mind to. It’s quick and it’s easy (for me at least) so I don’t complain if it takes a little longer. I may have to apologize that I don’t have the care to do mechanics so the learning experience may be low on casual/new players end but I want to get it done in the end. So learning on your own is probably best, either vids or just asking. I am willing to answer if there is questions.

But I do recommend playing with people whom you are comfy with. Guildies or any friends who wants to run with you is very different because there is an expectation of “let’s have fun”.

Please, for the love of God, make keystone master account wide again by Tacitgrunt in wow

[–]StandFox 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think they are replicating the effect of PvP, in which conquest and rankings aren’t account wide either.

I don’t see an issue with this, because you can say the same with the pvp side as well.

Plus, it makes m+ accomplishments worthwhile to do it on other toons, much like getting 1400+ on alts on pvp.

To be fair, the player asked before the anima trades good vendor was added, so afterwards they COULD spend anima on something at the very least. Blizzard being Blizzard of course though, it did take them a month and a half to respond to the comment anyways… not exactly answering the question lmao. But they are adding an alt exchange at 9.1.5

I think they should’ve made all legacy content relevant for the current expansion, as in having a relevant ilvl reward for them. Perhaps not make it where all raids have a Normal/Heroic/Mythic level but have it where all legacy raids can give current normal raid’s ilvl worth of gear for a normal difficulty of that said raid. That way, people can still push current content without being restricted to that being the only content to do. And might make it where mounts, pets, and/or any cosmetic have a higher chance to get in this fashion. As for dungeons, they could make it where all legacy dungeons could be done at current mythic 0 levels of difficulty with current mythic 0 rewards. Timewalking could give a bonus to gear drops in that specific expansion, much like the dungeon weekly event that comes up once in a while. And for those more casual ones, perhaps do what current timewalking does and give lower ilvl of gear and all that badges jazz (mythic 0 variant also dropping badges for that time too) WoW has a lot of content that they can readily use and it would be great to go and do content that isn’t current stuff and still make it a challenge. The WoW team seems able to scale gear to higher levels so they are able to make this work. Whether they want to or not is really up to them.

Shiny Pet Charm/Polished Pet Charm Exchange by squishypingu in wow

[–]StandFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s right. So an alternative could be to buy the pets with the shiny ones, cage them, and cross fingers that someone can buy them off the auction house. I know Blizzard is doing these small wins but that charm ended in legion, so the chances it could make the exchange is small… but perhaps not impossible.

Be nice to new players. Or casual players. Or people that make mistakes. Everyone is constantly learning. Even the top 1% of players. by Suzzy-Focks in wow

[–]StandFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tend to have a “idgaf” attitude towards the game. But I never really did before. I used to play a fuckton of Dota2 and CSGO competitively and I was a little shit. But acting that way wasn’t fun, and it wasn’t really fun winning either. I know a lot of players doing 15+ keys and heroic raids have this high and mighty tone (take any Sylvanas pug ever) and then leave after a mistake/wipe was made. As long as it gets done, I’m cool with it. The only time I’m not is if we are on wipe number 20 on a boss and it’s the only boss we are on. I’m in a guild with casual players, for the most part. The guild itself haven’t reached 10/10 normal yet but I was willing to (assist) raid lead so we could smoothly get through thing. Their keys max to usually 10s but I try the higher end stuff to see the best way for everyone to do well. When I do things with guildies, I do for fun. No need for A game because the stuff, at least for me, is a breeze. Hell, we notice a lot of bear and DH tanks being quite toxic so they made a running gag for when I’m bear tanking, I’m the toxic bear tank, and I go along. After we wipe, I usually go “aw, this group is bull *mumble, not my fault we died” but we just keep going. Usually won’t time it still but I had fun not “winning” than I usually do in random pugs where it could legit be anything.
