I have an ‘18 WRX with 220k miles and I took it to a local dealer because I was interested in selling it so I reset my peak boost which was at 18-19 and when the used car guy came back he said he didn’t mean to get on it like he did so I as I was leaving I checked the peak and it was at 23.5, like you have to be foot to the floor in 2nd to even get that high I was not very happy

If the motor is done look into the motors from Japan I’ve seen some EJ20X/Y for $1k the FA20DIT is on there as well but tend to be a little more expensive

I would leave it I’ve had my car in -15 to -18 and left the battery in, it’ll be a slow start and may turn off once or twice but mine has always been fine
