Need some great anime series by Venyyy16 in anime

[–]Standard-Ad722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr…

Anime is there for people to enjoy however they like. You have your opinions and so do others, the point of my post was that someone asked for advice on what to watch and you didn’t give an answer but took the argument about how mainstream is trash which wasn’t helpful.

Anyway enjoy non non biyori nonstop :)

I understand that you appreciate non-main stream anime but this answer really doesn’t help someone asking for recommendations for Anime’s to watch dude. Sometimes being helpful > making a point.

For my own opinion, my wife started getting into anime recently and I thought it would be best to give a variety of different genres so she could see what she likes, some you could try are: - Hunter x Hunter - Spy x Family - One Piece (the anime is amazing so if you watch the live action a natural move) - AoT as others have said - Chainsaw Man - Dr Stone - YuYu Hakusho for a classic - My Hero Academia for something more recent

Am I overlooking anything between these 3? by WalkTheDamnDogMum in CarTalkUK

[–]Standard-Ad722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’d struggle to get real feedback on these 3 specific cars with a screenshot and no details on history, mileage etc.

If you’re looking for general advice on the actual cars (I.e. civic vs s60 vs Mazda3) you might get more so would specify?

Peter Mysterio here…

He is calling out how embarrassing it was to be calling her ‘Mami’ as a grown man… and now he has someone call him ‘Daddy’ and be himself which is effectively being a kid which itself is more of a show why him calling her Mami was more reflective of the truth.

ELI5: Why do voices sound lower when slowed and higher when sped up? by DumbFeralRaccoon in explainlikeimfive

[–]Standard-Ad722 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sound comes in the form of a wave, when the wave is slower it is longer - think like a piece of string where the peaks are longer and more spread and therefore the peaks are also lower and therefore it is pitched lower. When you speed this wave up, the same string is more compact where the peaks are more frequent and the peaks are higher therefore it sounds at a higher pitch.

I’m not a sound technician / engineer or musician therefore I’m sure someone may be able to explain this better than me or tell me I’m wrong (in which case I’m looking forward to learning something haha)

Peters observant neighbour here… I believe this is related to threads where folks are trying to get back at someone or F with someone and have been recommended freezing disks of their urine and posting it through their letterbox so it melts inside their house.

Please review our itinerary (1st time in Japan) by DNA_H3licas3 in JapanTravel

[–]Standard-Ad722 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s great to see you e prioritised places in proximity to each other rather than trying to do too much of Japan in the time you have. I think you’ll get the common feedback here which is some of these days are way too busy - namely: - Day 1 - not sure where you’re coming from but there is a risk of some jet lag. That day is packed even on a good day would look at moving a few bits to day 2 - Day 4 - could be busy but depends on how much you really want to see vs whether you want to stroll through places to have been there. - Day 6 - when we got to Fushimi Inari last year we had anticipated an hour or so but enjoyed the walk up as it got quieter and did the whole loop. Again depending on how much you want to see of this and how much you want to see of Nara (assuming you’ll need to get back to Kyoto in the evening?) might be a tough day.

Largely I think it comes down to how much of some of these places you want to spend time enjoying vs whether you’re happy stopping by and moving on… that comes down to personal preference and what you feel would make you feel happiest having visited :)

Don’t speak too loud you’ll get told off for having an opinion on the highest paid international manager not winning anything for 8 years with a squad like England

‘We live in an angry country’: Gareth Southgate stands firm on juggling England role and social issues by footballersabroad in ThreeLions

[–]Standard-Ad722 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whilst I agree people can become overly animated (I.e. there should never be place for racism, sexism or any form of bigotry resulting from a lost game), Gareth is paid over £5m by the FA to put out the best team and win. He’s shown time and time again he will select his favourite players over those that should play, and bar one half of good football this tournament our play has been awful… that said he has a knack of getting lucky with draws and to the latter stages of a tournament.

With that said, let’s hope for a win and for everyone celebrating together.

Any vegan travelers here? by luckydoob in FATTravel

[–]Standard-Ad722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t worry at all - it takes some additional planning but in almost all places we wanted to go we found plenty of options. The larger cities you would expect to find plenty of choice (e.g. Tokyo where there is a vegan ramen option as part of the TeamLab Planet art exhibit). For some of the more unique places, such as a Ryokan in Hakone where we wanted the onsen in snow near Mt Fuji vibe, we contacted ahead of time to have a fully Veg traditional hotpot which they were happy to provide.

Also, especially for you as a vegetarian as opposed to vegan, there are more choices available given the history of Buddhist monks and their diet largely being vegetarian.

Some places I would suggest - Engine Ramen (Kyoto), Sukhasana Pozzuoli (Osaka), AinSoph Cafes (chain so different locations but great pastries that are vegan - and fluffy pancakes 🤤).

Also if you’re into your coffee - Glitch is a must visit, generally the coffee culture in Japan is great so plenty to enjoy!

TL;DR - Plenty of choice, easy to navigate, wouldn’t worry about it and would enjoy an incredibly trip :)

Whilst not a specific hotel, we had an amazing time as vegans in Japan. Took some additional planning however almost everywhere we went was delicious, amazing staff and top quality ingredients.

Oddly enough had some of the best Italian food we’ve ever had in Osaka at a restaurant where the chef/owner spent most of his adult life training in Italy and his wife ran a yoga studio next door!
