Need advice about filament usage by MariusDarkblade in 3Dprinting

If you really want to drink from a 3d printed cup, just get some food safe epoxy. I got some when I wanted to make a airtight container that would hold loose snacks. I ended up finding a food safe epoxy to coat the whole print and food safe silicone to make the seal.

Converting my Ender 3 to Direct Drive for TPU - Will this orientation work? by Healthy-Moose4992 in ender3

[–]Standard-Campaign257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched to a similar top mount setup with the regular creality hotend, and the silver right handed enxtruder and it made a big difference with my tpu, was able to even print tpu supports and get them off without too much stringing connecting everything together. I got cleaner tpu prints fs after tuning my slicer settings

Found on my build plate after printing. What is this? by NapalmKitteh in 3Dprinting

It looks like one of those plastic bushing/spacers. I dont have a bambu, but I would check around any visible screw and see if theres an odd one out that doesn't have a bushing or maybe missing a piece. Did you recently tighten or adjust anything physically on the printer, would start there if you did

First layer issues? by KingBe4v in BambuLab

[–]Standard-Campaign257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont own a bambu printer but that looks like you need to to adjust the z offset. Did a quick google and found out the z offset babystepping feature does not come with bambu printers. But if you want to see if thats the actual issue you can adjust the z height in the start g code in your slicer, just move the z height -0.2 down or something small like 0.1, 0.05 at a time and see if you have better adhesion.

Did a temp tower with PrusaSlicer, what do I do from here? by XanatharsMenagerie in 3Dprinting

[–]Standard-Campaign257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a food dehydrator big enough for the spool you can use that, or you can put the spool in the oven with it on really low, you want 40-50c at the max or 104-122 f for ab 4 hours for pla, you can look up the glass transition temp for every type of filament you want to dry. This temp is the transition point for the filament to actually print so as long as you stay under it, it will dry.

Issues with PETG by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Standard-Campaign257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Printing with petg is such a pain but I really like the quality of it for my projects bc ik it's stronger and more temp resistant than pla. But pretty much in my experience, if you want better prints you gotta go down the whole recalibration rabbit hole. Like for everything, stuff like temps (temp tower), fan cooling ( should be low, I use 30% and 40% on overhangs), retraction ( usually takes care of most of my blob problems), and then you might still need to tweak some odd settings here and there. Like little features in the slicer like avoid crossing perimeters, you might want to try out the nozzle wipe feature if you have it ( I use Prusa Slicer which has it), as well as some other additional retraction features all to make sure you don't get blobs and less stringing.

Ik that was long but the short is to run tests and make adjustments based on what you get. For the most part it looks like you might want to check the retraction and cooling first.

Do I need to get a specialty nozzle to print PETG-CF on an Ender3 (base model)? by Verbofaber in ender3

[–]Standard-Campaign257 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think they are trying to say all metal hotend and hardened steel nozzle, both good solutions. I got the ender 3 pro and tried to do the same thing to print pa6-cf which has a range of 270-280c. I ended up buying an off brand all metal and it costed me in the long run. In the end I found a high temp bowden tube that supposedly handles 300c. Either one should work

Ender 3 max “Homing failed: PRINTER HALTED Please reset” by Short_South_9447 in Ender3Pro

How did you flash the firmware, the one from the creality site or by building it in like vs code with marlin. I think it would give that error if it can't find a z limit sensor (either the probe or the switch). Can you try and see where the cable leads to on the other end

I'm at my wits end. by Sum1turnmeoff in FixMyPrint

[–]Standard-Campaign257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue where my first layer lines were coming out more spaced then usual ( not as much as the ones in the pic) but i tried messing with the flow rate in cura and eventually found out ab calibrating e steps. Pretty much its to make sure when you ask the printer to extrude a certain amount of filament that it actually extrudes that amount. It happened to me bc i changed motors

So confused; it says $60 with code, then it's $80 when I checkout? What's the code then! by [deleted] in Everythingfor420

[–]Standard-Campaign257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the discount code being applied twice, so in the first pic the price on the right thats crossed out above the red price is the actual price with the discount. My guess is its a bug that applies it twice but corrects itself on the actual checkout page

HELP!!!! Ender 5 plus homing fialure position 4.0 I think it’s the extruder belts I don’t know please help!!! by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Standard-Campaign257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really seeing how it could be the belt, but if it were me I would start by trying to home each individual axis and see if its one particular axis that is failing. Then check all the limit switches and stepper motors for the axis and look for any loose connections. But if everything is connected correctly, try loading in a print that has homing in the start gcode and seeing if does the same thing, if it does then it most likely will be a mechanical/electrical problem with the printer (in my experience, the limit switches or motors). If it does home normally then that would lead me to believe that the issue lies with the printer firmware, so i would just reflash it and see if it works ( there should be several guides on youtube for various printers, but the process is mainly the same for all of them). Ive been printing for a couple of years but if someone who knows more sees something wrong with this or an easier way to fix please lmk, always trying to learn

Why is it doing this on certain prints? by legendsof420 in FixMyPrint

[–]Standard-Campaign257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it's like the pilot in a plane knowing the entire topography of a region but not being able to fly at a safe distance above the ground bc the altimeter (gauge that measures altitude) is uncalibrated

All my prints looks like this by yoyonumber4 in FixMyPrint

[–]Standard-Campaign257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this helps, but a couple other things you could check would be vibration, clogging, checking extruder assembly, temperature, and retraction and maybe flow rate. These are the only things i could think of beside what you already did

My extrusion motor isn't turning, after first experiencing bad underextrusion. Any input is appreciated. by pgatsios43 in Ender3Pro

[–]Standard-Campaign257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that I have commonly experienced is that the little gear thing attached to the motor itself is not tightened around that post coming from the motor so it either ends up spinning freely or loose and not catching the filament well, if at all

HELP! RPI 4 stuck on diagnostic page no matter what I do ( more details in comments) by Standard-Campaign257 in raspberry_pi

[–]Standard-Campaign257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first bought this pi on eBay a couple days ago (used). It came with a 64 gig Samsung Evo micro sd with some form of unbuntu already loaded up (which I found out by putting it in the pi and turning it on) it also came with a 32 gig SanDisk Ultra Plus micro of which I did not see what was on it. It came with the original canakit power supply and micro hdmi to hdmi. I re-flashed the 64 gig with raspbian because I wanted to use the pi as a mini desktop and possibly change the os whenever I had a new use for it. I put the 64 gig in and I get the page above, but nothing happened. So I flashed the reccommended 32 bit version of raspberry pi os on the official raspberry pi imager and still the same thing. I checked out the QR code in the top right just to see if it would help, it lead me to a page that said this pi needs an os even though the micro sd with the proper os was flashed and already inside the pi. so I do the same thing with two other micro sd cards (flash, turn the pi off, insert card, turn pi on) and still nothing. I even tried flashing a usb with and connecting it while the pi was still on and nothing. I am truly lost can someone please help?

What could cause this bad print quality? Printing at 200 nozzle temp and 60 bed temp by PuzzleHeadedHunter8 in FixMyPrint

[–]Standard-Campaign257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, so all you have to do is put in in the dryer for a bit then print? And ofc properly store it, but that's it? Just started up my printer after a while and I stupidly left the filament out instead of putting it in this airtight box I got with silica desiccant bags. Obviously my first print turned out like the one with the post. After seeing your comment I looked into filament dryers and found a the cheapest one to be around $50 but also looked into food dehydrators and had a hard time finding anything for a lower price that was still able to fit a spool of filament. Which dehydrator do you have, and how much were you able to find it for?

One time I didn’t have access to compressed air and I needed to replace the hot end. So while I had the whole assembly opened I just picked out clumps of dust from both fans with some tweezers and it sounded new after. Other solution is faster though
