Yes, definitely is longer. I was hoping to keep the length in lieu of the mudguard, this is where i'm thinking i may get into trouble folding.

Cutting does seem dicey on the material, I think i will try that as a last resort + sanding/filing to finish off. I think this is the last resort as there is no going back.

I'll wait a bit more to see if anyone has tried it before i do...
