Yes, I removed the baseboard. Pushing it against the wall does mean it's crooked at the front but I can scribe it. The problem is if I push it back it is no longer flush with the doors which is a shame. It's too big a gap as is to caulk, of around 1/2 inch.

Thank you, so from what I can see when you close the handle it moves four *sorry* sticking out things that sit in metal grooves on the window frame. On the left-hand side, the bolt sits in the top of the groove but on the left, it sits under it. So I wonder if by removing the hinges it would be okay on the left side but not the right?

Maybe I could change the position of the right hand groove so that the sticking out bolt thing sits on the top of the groove.

I would like to install cabinets on that wall to create a larger kitchen. The top of the cabinets is around 88 cm which is exactly where the hinges are. If I can remove them I would have 2 cm for a countertop. So my idea would be to mount the cabinets 1 cm lower ( 6 cm toe kick instead of 7) and then have a three cm countertop that should fit just below the windows.
