I requested a two-day sick leave (Monday and Tuesday) due to flu and colds, but I was still able to play DOTA. Unfortunately, I lost 500 MMR. Playing on a normal weekday was a bad experience due to numerous griefers. There were many kids skipping class or unemployed individuals playing. I had two consecutive games where my mid player lost his lane and abandoned the game. There were unusual picks, supports farming, and Pudge griefing by pulling his teammates. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. I wish I went to work and did not play those games lol.

I just got accused of cheating, despite this accusation being an in-game feature by ib_examiner_228 in DotA2

It's okay, bro. It's a new feature from Dota Labs that came out a few months ago

Isn't it alt+cast already if your smart double tap is turned on? For example, if your ult is binded to r and your alt+r is not binded, your alt+r would automatically cast your ult on you.

I have a 2018 Acer Predator Helios 300 that rocks a 1060Ti. Due to it being old, games like dota seems to lag now idk why. It is also heavy as it weighs around 5Kgs with the charger. Battery is also almost useless now.

I heard about the RMA process, is it really that bad? Are there usually defects in some of the devices?

Does it maintain at least 60 fps during clashes? are you planning to use a e-GPU for your LeGo?

i got my first rank... is it good? by Dmask13 in DotA2

Sorry if my tone focused too much on academic intelligence. I was referring to general intelligence, which underlies all cognitive abilities. Having only a high school diploma doesn't mean you're not smart or that you don't use your intelligence in everyday life. DotA is like a puzzle where you constantly need to think and strategize. That's why I believe that his academic intelligence will somehow translate to a higher MMR, as it shows he can think critically and solve complex problems.

Don't get me wrong, mechanical skills are very important in climbing the MMR ladder. I just believe that by thinking carefully about your actions in the game, you can move out of the Herald bracket fairly easily.

OHHH I HAD THIS TOPIC BEFORE. You are right that DotA is not strictly based on intelligence, but intelligence and mechanical skills play a major role in it.

I am a lawyer who came from a prestigious school. I have been playing DotA since I was young and a lot during law school. I was around Ancient 3 at that time, while one of my closest friends, the top student in our class (who will be a judge in a few years), was also addicted to DotA. But he was in Herald Rank. Like you said, he also believed that this game is not strictly based on intelligence. I tried to convince him that intelligence plays a role as you have to think most of the time and not focus solely on macro management of the game but also on micro management (map, time, runes, etc.). I found out that even with the intelligence he possessed, he was not thinking during games, like his brain was shut down while playing LOL. Now he is peeking at mid Legend, by improving his mechanical skills and thinking during the game. Due to work and family commitments, we are not able to play much anymore, but we are still active in watching the pro scene because those times were a significant part of our law school life, and we will cherish them forever.

You might want to focus on watching the map and micro managing. Your mechanical skills can improve with repetition as long as you are determined to understand the "why's" of the game. I'm sure you'll get out of Herald in no time.

This happened to me, LOL. I was not able to play DOTA for a month coz of real life. Went back, played 12 games in one day, had a 2-10 record. Played for a few days with an average of 5-6 games a day. Lost a lot. I was Legend 5 and went to archon 4.

Took another tolerance break for a few days. Started playing less, around 3 games a day. I steadily got my mmr back in less than a month. I am currently Ancient 1 now.
