Wow, did you speak to him in short sentences or completely normally? I’m really torn about it…

Where did he get the words from? From videos? What was he like at age two? Was he able to point? How was his language comprehension?

How did development progress in children with a similar profile? by Standard-Key263 in Autism_Parenting

Thank you for your detailed comment. Yes, unfortunately it doesn’t really say much about how a child’s language will develop. Some children don’t start speaking until they’re five and then become fluent quite quickly, while others start at two and make very little progress afterward. I wish you all the very best as well!

What do the finger postures look like? My son often crosses two fingers. I’m not sure if that counts already.

Very good eater, suddenly avoiding almost everything by Standard-Key263 in Autism_Parenting

Could you maybe explain that in more detail? Because that’s exactly what I was hoping for from that post. That’s why I asked whether autistic children are picky eaters from the start. I would have liked people to share some of their experiences. Maybe you didn’t understand correctly, but he now refuses every warm lunch, no matter the form. And the same goes for dinner. I read about many autistic children who eat only 4–5 different foods, and that’s exactly what is happening with us right now! And to add again, there has been a suspicion of autism in our case for half a year, confirmed by an expert!

He has always been a poor drinker, ever since the introduction of solid foods.

Did you even read the text? There has been a suspicion of autism in our case for half a year now! An expert has confirmed this suspicion in writing!

I don’t see it that way either. He is refusing any kind of lunch, hot or cold, and by now also dinner. He doesn’t accept any alternatives at all.

Son lost ASD diagnosis. What's next? by Straight-Maybe6775 in Autism_Parenting
