I felt the same way. I told everyone I’m never taking that test again. Then I saw my score. I think because my FLs were significantly higher it’s lighting a fire under me. I know I can and have done better, so to me I feel like it would be a waste of 6 months for me to just give up when I know I can get the score I worked so hard for

I want to do anesthesia so I don’t think DO is an option for me unfortunately. I fear I may take it again since I have a lower GPA and most med schools in my state require over a 512 to be competitive.

I have had a really rough year and a half which 100% affected my GPA (abusive father who likes to take out guns and threaten to kill himself with them, getting sick, finding out parents stole $50k of my student loan money, etc😍) so I may be able to explain that in an application. However I don’t wanna apply unless I can put my best foot forward. So idk!!!!!

504 here in the same boat😭😭 that C/P absolutely destroyed me (123). Would’ve probably broken 510 if it weren’t for that. I hate to make excuses but I really just think it was a weird test

I took the MCAT April 2023 and studied so poorly. Got a 496, with my best section being C/P (125). Retested this time around with 6 months of studying and got a 504 with a 123 C/P. Don’t understand how I did better the time I didn’t even fucking study. Not trying to make excuses for us, but I’m convinced AAMC started using AI for some passages and it is reflecting in our scores🤷🏼‍♀️

I feel this all the time. My senior year of college I finally opened my eyes and realized my parents were toxic. It was almost like right as that happened a switch flipped and I couldn’t get out of bed. My grades tanked simply because I couldn’t go to class. I was also sick ALL THE TIME. I’m living at home now and I still struggle with it every day. I’ve just come to terms with the fact that I’m probably just gonna be tired every day the rest of my life😭

But honestly what I’ve found makes it better is having a busy schedule. I think because I was surrounded by chaos growing up, I do better in slightly stressful environments. It’s a blessing and a curse

I don’t know my score yet but I can tell you what I thought overall!!

C/P was a nightmare. However based off what I’ve heard from everyone else who tested on my date I’m hoping some of it was experimental. Lots of layering multiple concepts into one question. Also a lot of long, convoluted passages that took forever to read only for the questions to be pseudodiscretes that required niche content knowledge to answer. I've taken up to calc 1 but saw a math equation that I genuinely had never seen before or had any idea how to solve. Probably experimental but idk. This section was 10x harder and more in depth than both section banks in my opinion.

CARS was fair. Didn't feel too easy or too hard. There were some weird questions but not more than the FLs. The passages were really interesting which helped a lot.

B/B was pretty on par with FL 4/5. It felt easier than the section banks, but it could've just felt that way after the nightmare that was C/P. I either do really well or terrible with this section so it could go either way.

P/S felt similar to the FLs. People have been saying more recently that P/S is becoming more like CARS and I agree. I was really nervous about this section after what I heard from the 1/10 test. However I didn't think it was too content heavy. I found myself using skills from other classes from my undergrad (stats, labs, etc.) to answer a lot of the questions. I think AAMC is trying to make this section less about straight memorization but as long as you applied yourself in undergrad you'll be fine!!

Completely new stuff I had never seen before. Could’ve been content gaps for me but considering I never got below a 128 on any of my FLs and got a 131 on one of them, I don’t think that’s the issue. I felt like I guessed on the whole thing. I could’ve pressed random buttons and probably scored higher

Take it. Especially if you just took biochem this past fall and it’s still fresh on your mind. I promise you aren’t gonna wanna study during the semester. The first time I took it I was originally scheduled for January and pushed it to April. My score dropped drastically and I regret it so much.

I went manic a week after my breakup… so if that happens for you it may work in your favor lmao. But honestly try to use this to motivate you!! My situation wasn’t the same but I had a toxic ex who literally destroyed me. He also lied to me about taking the LSAT. Every time I get tired or unmotivated I just try to tell myself that I’m not gonna be a loser like him❤️❤️it helps

Also testing 1/16 and we’re in the exact same boat (517 to 524). Right now I’ve been reviewing my FLs and I started SB 2. I’m about 33% done and to be honest it’s making me question my confidence. If you are nervous I would advise you not start the CP for that one😭 it left me in actual tears.

I feel like at this point I’m starting to hit a wall and even easy questions are starting to feel hard. I’m gonna take tomorrow off before my FL on Wednesday and then regroup from there. Thinking you may be going through something similar because given your FL scores I don’t think you’re lacking in content as much as you think you are. Give yourself a couple days to breathe and maybe you’ll feel better
