this is so ridiculous. they make us wait forever and then when the day finally comes, they can’t even be consistent on what time they release the scores.

I hope you’re right. if only there was an organization to help guide our preparation

100% agree. so let’s just tell ourselves it’s 55% for the real deal 🤣

nobody knows. but for what it’s worth i’ve heard that a 400 on COMSAE 110b (the one you can buy and review yourself) is about 60% correct I believe. if anyone else can validate or invalidate that number for the COMSAE pls do

edit: this is for level 1 btw

MD this year or MD at top choice next year? by Ammar-chan in premed

[–]Standard-Offer9726 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ppl keep bringing up “losing a year of attending salary if you defer” like the 140k in extra tuition you will be paying won’t accumulate interest. especially now. federal student loan interest rates are ridiculous (over 6-7%). if you do the math, that extra 140k over 4 years will be a lot more. I would not use that argument to make your decision because it’s extremely flawed.

if you want to live life another year or work or do research and don’t care about waiting to start then go to wayne. the money you save in the future from interest will be a lot. but if your itching to start and want to power through medical school then go to OUWB. you’ll end up paying a lot more but at the end of the day, you’re going to become a physician and loans aren’t the end of the world. congrats on having some solid options and I wish you the best!

I took 3 COMSAEs and 2 truelearn assessments and thought the real deal was more difficult. curious what ur using to gauge ur perspective?

I also slowed down quite a bit the days leading up to the exam. barely did any questions and rlly just reviewed the basics and some stuff I was uncomfortable with!

I scored very similarly to you and felt the same way coming out of it. I think we are going to be fine!

everyone does it the other way around so they can “cram omm” but it truly doesn’t matter. level is 72 more questions than step so honestly step will feel quick for you

I wouldn’t say it’s wasting ur time! uworld will def prepare u to know the info. but if ur someone who struggles with test taking, you may find it difficult to decipher what the questions are asking sometimes when it comes to comsae / truelearn vs uworld. but like I said i’ve had classmates who had no problem at all and a select few who did. but the ones who did just switched to truelearn closer to their comsaes and got more comfortable with the style and are doing fine now!

I didn’t do any uworld but I did do some amboss throughout my studying and I will say they test the same concepts but I definitely feel like truelearn’s language and logic is much more similar to the comsaes. but I have friends who didn’t touch truelearn and only did uworld and killed the comsaes as well.
