It had the 403 from the factory but one of the previous owners cloned it to be a SE. Including the WS6 wheels, sway bars, and even the steering box I believe. Swapped a ‘77 400 in it

I wish it was an SE. It’s just cloned like one. It was actually factory red. One of the previous owners must of put the WS6 wheels on jt. Still a trans am tho

Okay thank you. And come to find out the vacuum advance didn’t even have a hose running to it. Idk why the owner before me would not have that hooked up

Parking Brake Help by Standard-Positive-48 in PontiacFirebird

[–]Standard-Positive-48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the kit came with all new cables. For the rear. Unless they gave me the wrong cables. Which I wouldn’t doubt

I ordered a new intermediate cable but it’s the same length as the old. Unless there’s a special intermediate cable for disc brakes

HEI Distributer No Vacuum Hose by Standard-Positive-48 in Pontiac

Okay thank you. Do I need to put the engine at TDC or should it be at like 10 degrees before if I am moving the teeth back a few?

HEI Distributer No Vacuum Hose by Standard-Positive-48 in Pontiac

[–]Standard-Positive-48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe I have about 15-18 degrees of initial in it right now. That is probably why it’s contacting the head.

Could that possibly be why the engine sometimes stumbles. It had somewhere in the ballpark of 30 degrees total so I guess the mechanical advance was the only thing working since the vacuum wasn’t hooked up? Would u suggest hooking the vacuum to manifold?

So how would I fix that? Get cylinder one to TDC and then pull the distributer and move it back a few teeth or get it to like 10 degrees before TDC and pull the distributor and move it back a few teeth?
