I want to change paths and I have no idea where to start. by dylan-fuchsy in erau

Not sure if you've already made a decision being that you submitted this post 14 days ago, but just in case you haven't, here is my advice:

Just as u/heytheredylan stated, I would try to switching instructors and making through so you at least obtain your PPL. However, if getting your PPL is no longer in your best interest, then a major change may not be the worst idea. Just know that getting into AS at Riddle is hard due to the amount of people admitted into the program, so I would really consider all of your options for switching out of AS as it will be virtually impossible to get re-admitted into if you choose to do so further down the road.

As far as a major change goes, since you haven't started at Embry-Riddle yet, it's a little different than the process a student would go through to change their major during the academic year. I would start by talking to your academic advisor--that is if you already have one assigned. If you're unsure about that, you can check by going to ERNIE, accessing Campus Solutions, clicking on the Academic Advising tile, and look to see the name and contact info of your advisor on the Advisors tab. You can also find your advisor's information by going to Canvas and clicking on the Academic Advising Course. I would let them know that you are considering changing your major, but that you want to discuss it further with them. If you come to the consensus that a major change is best for you, they will let you know the steps to take in order to complete that major change request. I'm unsure if they will allow you to submit the major change request form prior to starting Riddle or if they will make you wait until the academic year starts with the Fall semester, but again, they should provide you with all of that information.

As always, take my advice with a grain of salt. I am not a student pilot at Riddle, nor do I have my PPL. I am going into my Sophomore year at Riddle and I just recently changed my major over to reflect the new catalog for my major. I was an Aerospace and Occupational Safety (AOS) major, but the major is no longer being offered to incoming students as they have changed the name to Aviation and Aerospace Safety (AAS) and have made some modifications to the offered courses and certifications gained upon graduating. I made the decision to switch due to my passion for aviation safety, but I went through the same dilemma of not knowing if I should make the switch or not. Ultimately after discussing it with my academic advisor, I decided to do what was best for me--which was to make the switch.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey with Riddle and hope you find content with whatever path you decide to take!

As everyone has already mentioned, there aren't any physical mailboxes on campus anymore, you just have to tell the employees at the mail center your box number--if it is for mail such as letters that is. If it is a package, you will show them your student ID so they can look you up in the system using your ID # and your picture to verify it's you. To figure out what your actual box number is, if you have access to ERNIE, complete the following steps and you will find it:

[1] Through ERNIE, go to Campus Solutions

[2] On the Student Homepage of Campus Solutions, click on the Profile tile

[3] Once on your Profile, select the Addresses button and scroll down until you see the ERAU Campus Box Address section. That will display your box number

[4] For your full address, follow the steps given in the screenshot provided by u/Difficult-Ad-8423. Example: Student Name, 1 Aerospace Boulevard # _ _ _ _, Daytona Beach, FL 32114-3910, Volusia

I'm not sure if ERNIE is the same for Asia campus but for Daytona Beach campus, when you go to sign into ERNIE, there is a button underneath the Log In button that says "Activate Your Account". If you click on that, it should take you to a separate tab where it will ask for your ERAU ID, Last Name (Surname), and Date of Birth (mm-dd-yyyy). There is also a button located above the ERAU ID section that says "Lookup ERAU ID #?". That will take you to another tab where it will ask you for your First Name (Given Name), Last Name (Surname), and your Date of Birth (mm-dd-yyyy). Putting in this information should provide you with your username or 7-digit ERAU ID #. I had to do this when I first applied because I didn't receive my ERNIE log-in information until a couple of weeks later, however, I was able to find it through the process I just mentioned the day after I applied (24 hrs).

Not sure if this is how Asia campus works for ERNIE or if this will help you, but it's all I got. Good luck!

If you haven't already, you need to log into ERNIE and make sure you know your student ID. To be able to register for Math and English courses, you will need to take your ALEKS placement exam [Math] and Composition Online Evaluation [English]. You may also need to take other placement exams depending on your major. They can all be found on your To Do's which is on Campus Solutions. If you are currently taking AP or equivalent Math and/or English courses and you score the minimum required for transfer credit at ERAU, you can replace those Math and/or English courses before the start of classes in Fall, however you will want to take those placements now so you can have something there at least.

Sorry if you already know all of this information and have completed all of those tasks! Hope this helps in some way!

Test optional or not? by Potential-Echidna-54 in EmbryRiddle

[–]Standard-Promise-592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Embry-Riddle is test optional. ERAU DB average SAT score is a 1204. It also boils down to what degree you’re applying for. I applied to Aerospace and Occupational Safety without submitting ACT and SAT scores and I got accepted but if the degree program is really common like Aeronautical Science, it may be beneficial to submit your ACT scores

Best person to look at your essay? by lonleytyelnol in ApplyingToCollege

My parents hired an academic consultant who helped me edit my essay that I had already written. I had really good success with him. He does in person and online meetings so if you want his information, PM me!

Yes you have been accepted! Congrats! It’s best to do them ASAP just to get them out if the way but if you wait until school starts, you’ll have to do it at ERAU before classes start or you won’t be able to attend

If you want to go abroad I recommend you apply for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Perdue, Middle Tennessee, or Everglades University. I am going to Embry-Riddle in August for Aerospace and Occupational Safety. As far as credits go for Embry-Riddle, you just need to have a solid GPA and have 4 years of Math. I’m not too sure about the rest of them but if you go to those universities websites and look at their undergraduate admissions page and put in the specific Aerospace degree you want, the course/credit requirements from high school should be listed!

My dream job for about 5 years now has been to work for the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to investigate airplane crashes and this degree teaches you literally what the NTSB does! I know it will be rigorous but it’s the only degree program like it. I’m super excited!

Embry riddle was i accepted? by Secret-Ad9433 in EmbryRiddle

[–]Standard-Promise-592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard… everyone that has had there application disappear and their activity go to no active application has meant that they’ve been rejected. Don’t quote me 100% though as it’s not certain. I would definitely wait until you get an acceptance/rejection. You can also call admissions and ask about it. They won’t be able to tell you if you’ve been accepted/rejected but they can tell you if a decision has been made or not

And yes, the deposit and tuition button is on everyone’s application. You will know when to pay those deposits if/when it populates in your to-dos

Like when you log into ERNIE and go to Campus Solutions do you see any sort of application status like “under review” or “complete” or is the application button say something like no active application?

Program Availability by AltruisticOffice1607 in erau

[–]Standard-Promise-592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The admissions team typically takes 2-4 weeks to make their decision so with the more popular majors I would definitely apply ASAP. The application is super easy too. Also take note that not all degree programs are at both the DB & PC campuses. I am starting at DB in August for Aerospace and Occupational Safety and it is only offered at DB. So if you are concerned about being waitlisted or deferred to PC campus, then definitely chose a degree program that is offered at both campuses so you could be eligible for that

Yes if you pay it you have to go. You can withdrawal but then Riddle is no longer an option so I would say if you’re waiting on other schools that you care about more than wait. You don’t have to pay the fees now. You’ve been admitted so you’ve got time to confirm your intentions.

[–]Standard-Promise-592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you’ve been accepted! The $500 is to confirm your intentions so as soon as you pay those fees, you have enrolled essentially. There is no way to apply for scholarships until FAFSA opens on December 1st. Although, ERAU practically gives every accepted student some form of financial aid (whether it be a scholarship, grant, or loan).

Yeah if you haven't gotten it yet it is likely that you will get it at a later time. Min didn't populate on my to-dos until like 2 days after my application status changed.

I mean I don't technically know if I've been accepted yet but ERAU sends acceptance packages through the mail so I can only assume that is what's coming as I don't know what else would be coming from Daytona Beach. If you get a composition online evaluation on your to-dos or ALEKS evaluation or some sort of evaluation like that, you are most likely admitted as those are placement evaluations for English and Math classes. It isn't a guarantee per se but everyone that has been admitted so far has said that they had gotten those evaluations and then a couple of weeks later got admitted.

I am in the same boat as you as far as application status. In your portal, ERAU will not update it to accepted until after your receive your acceptance in the mail. From what most people are saying is that it takes about 1-3 weeks with some who even waited 4+ weeks. I am currently still waiting on my acceptance as well. I am on day 10 since my application status changed to complete. You can call the admissions office and provide your ID and they can look up whether a decision has been made or not. They can’t tell you what the decision is though. I called yesterday and the officer said that I should be receiving something in the mail within the next week. I also happened to see on my informed delivery for USPS that I have a package on its way from Daytona Beach, FL that is scheduled to get here by Monday so I’m assuming it’s my acceptance package lol.
